I joined this forum looking for plans to build a landing craft style boat with a mississipi river shanty boat twist. I have a Motorcycle and want to take her with me. To get around and see the sights
I am a traveling nurse and professional sailor. I only work 4 to 6 months of the year.
I have been sailing and fishing since I was 4 years old.
I have sailed my 33ft Morgan Out Islander around the world twice. And love it.
My next adventure is to build a Mississipi shanty boat and travel down the Mississipi River.. from Chicago to New Orleans. And of course fishing along the way. Mm fish tacos And bourbon southern Ice tea sours. Yum.
After my vessel is built cruising and working as a bar tender the local bar or picking up a couple of Nursing shifts along the way. I figure it will take me three years to make it down the Ye Ole miss. From building my boat in Chicago to New Orleans.
Then maybe after that the the ICW to Florida..
I will only be cruising during Late Spring Summer and early fall. I dont do winters. I haven't seen a winter since I graduated College. And dont plan too.
