Good stuff as always, Sir.
In a mold, would an epoxy lamimate bond better to poly gelcoat that has had the Duratec high gloss additive mixed in?
I haven't settled on a schedule, but am thinking along the lines of 2 layers of 17 oz. Biax.
In a lightweight layup. Say, 30 oz of Fiberglass cloth, will I have acceptable flow with media only on top of the laminate?
The hull is 42" wide on the bottom of the hull. Max beam is 48". Freeboard is 18". Typical skinny water size.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the info on the bag sizes available. I will definately heed your advice and get a backup pump.
I am brand new to infusion and am gonna have a ton of questions. I am gonna start by doing some small pieces to get comfortable before I try to do...
Yea. Looks sweet. There's a similar design called Solo Skiff that is pretty sweet.
That is funny. I have fished the heck out of it since last spring. Musky on the fly rod has become my vice. I have ran it hard. More than a few...
My goal is to build a very stiff, but lightweight hull. I want to avoid having to use CSM. Does Vinyl ester shrinkage allow one to not use mat?...
If building a plug, can the Duratec products be the final layer before the tooling gel is sprayed ? Thanks !
I get the cost factor. I can build this boat with 11 gallons, so it doesn't add much overall cost compared to the upside.
It's what I like. Makes for a light boat. I see a lot of shallow water/flats boats that weigh 4 to 6 hundred pounds.
This is something I will have to address. This boat gets pretty narrow toward the stern and is actually quite narrow overall.
