    • 20+ years offshore boating experience

    • IT background: programmer, systems designer & infrastructure architect
    Projects & Interests:
    • ️ Building central boat computers with Raspberry Pi

    • Using open-source, free software (mainly Home Assistant)

    • Integrating NMEA 0183 & NMEA 2000

    • Monitoring batteries, bilge, solar & engine temps

    • Setting up alerts for leaks, overheating & low voltage

    • Controlling pumps, lights & other 12V systems via dashboards
    My focus is on keeping things reliable, low-cost, and approachable — something any boater can use, not just the tech-savvy.
