    Sea Sled Madness: It's Incurable

Lol! Yes. 3 years ago I would have bet a grand it would be finished in a year and a half.

Ever trust someone you shouldn't have? One of those scenarios

    Sea Sled Madness: It's Incurable

Another 2 years. I worked up north. Did 12 jobs, 10 of them quite profitable. Generated 170k in net profits. My business partner stole it all. Really hard to make this damn boat.

    Water creeping up hullsides

Have you considered steaming wooden spray rails? It has been 33 years since I steamed a frame, but it certainly made the oak flexible.

Building a Texas sled 18 (inverted V) need advice on improving turning ability

I've tried hard turns in my 12 pax water taxi with 440 D6 volvo penta with duoprop outdrive. Pathetic in comparison.

Building a Texas sled 18 (inverted V) need advice on improving turning ability

I have now done (well actually it was Bluebell- I chickened out like Trump) wot hard turns. The stern swung around perfectly while the bow stayed connected. 180° turn in about 3 boat lengths, from 31 knots.

Please advise on prop. Selection an desired WOT RPM

If you are losing grip accelerating hard coming up up onto plane, your prop can't accept that much power. Disk loading is too high. Increase prop diameter, before increasing pitch. That o/b leg can take a 16" prop. Don't go that extreme though. Causes vibration when the induced flow off the...

    Diesel outboards

I explained in detail before. If the concepts were out of your reach before, I can't really help you by repeating them. Maybe ask a mech eng to help you.

    Diesel outboards

Well, like I said, I don't think it is even possible, fron an engineering perspective, to make a competative diesel outboard

    Prop Selection for Production Boat

So how about modifying the hull to add the lower half of a Kort nozzle? Asking for a friend

Under those conditions I also slow down. There's still no pounding or slamming, but she is very wide, and quite light, so there's a lot of pitching and heaving. I lose about 4 knots, falling from 21 knot economy cruising at 100hp, to 17 knots at the same power. I also lose visibility, because...

    Diesel outboards

Certainly your knowledge of mechamical engineering makes you an excellent advisor. Maybe they could hire you as a consultant.

    Diesel outboards

I guess you didn't read my last, @montero . Speaking Chinese doesn't change physics or chemistry. They won't be able to do it either. Because reality doesn't allow it. Certainly not at a chinesium level of quality.

    Diesel outboards

The power to weight ratio of a typical marine diesel precludes installing one as an outboard: too much weight on the transom/bracket. So the designers use lighter blocks leading to higher stress and strain, making parts vulnerable. To increase power supercharging can be used, either with a...
