I agree that bamboo isn't a good shape. Do you have any other suggestions?
bamboo is light. But i think i need to find an alternative. And lexan was just a bad idea
According to cha-cha they use acrylics.http://www.chacha.com/question/what-kind-of-glass-is-used-on-tanning-beds. So they could take the uv rays...
Wonder what transparent material they use in tanning machines. It could take the UV rays but i don't know about its strength. Ill look into it.
Would a clear gel-coat do the trick? Or any other things?
So I should use Lexan instead of plexiglass? Also I misread the sail height the mast is 26ft not the sail. Also aluminum has to be welded in most...
Im starting in late febuary, ill start to post then! Thanks for the feedback
After i screw the plexiglass into the bamboo im using that white sealent i forgot what its called but theres tons of it in home depot. Ill seal...
1/8 inch plexiglass. Its 48" by 120". Ill need about 7 total pieces. Im going to screw them into the bamboo. Ill use about 2 to 3 sheets a hull.
I have a hobie wave now thats 250pounds so this should be lighter to proportion
From the information its saying it'll only be about 100 pounds per hull
Thanks. Im sure in strong winds i will greatly appreciate that choice.
