After a working life as a designer of sailing yacht hardware (deck hardware, rigging, masts), now an ocean cruiser. About 100,000 miles under the keels of the last three boats. Ocean Cruising Club member, awarded the Rose Medal in 2012, for "the most meritorious short-handed voyage". Long-term user of the junk rig, and variations of it, since working with Blondie Hasler very briefly in the early 1970s. Committee member of the Junk Rig Association, after having served as Webmaster and Chairman.
