    Two 18th-Century replica bateaux, mostly on the Mohawk River in upstate New York
    I am a member of a revolutionary War/French & Indian War re-enactment group. Our activities include the use of two full-scale replicas of bateaux of the type used on the Mohawk and other rivers for the transport of freight and people. These are 23 feet long, flat-bottomed, propelled by oars and a single square sail and steered by a long steering
