Like, the sea looks flat. How did they even do that?

A jet boat going into full reverse at high initial speed will produce this situation.

I'm listening for the thousandth time, to Lateralus, by Tool. To enjoy the flavour of life, take big bites. Moderation is for monks. The fellow driving that boat is no monk.

I'm guessing that'd loosen a few screws that weren't tight enough.

You are correct, it's a jet drive.
They can go from WOT to full-stop in about two boat lengths.
Fun... so long as nobody's following close behind!

Or anyone is standing beside the driver with their hands full

Good view of the vulnerable area. Shows proportions of cantilevered transom assembly.

It doesn't show very well for me.
It's rather confusing as the boat is on an unknown angle.

"Vulnerable area" or "point-of-failure", or "weak-point".
A graceful curve could have alleviated it.
I'm surprised you're still dwelling on it.
Are you going to leave it and move on or try and justify that it's okay as is.
Just leave it and watch for failure-over-time.
    Maybe it never will.

So, what else are you working on?
Is there a proposed splash date?

Mostly I don't think about it.

At the moment I'm waiting for the correct ignition harness, and fuel tank hardware.

I wanted to go in the next week, but critical parts are still absent. Once they arrive, it's a runner as they say.

Okay, I have a question for the brain trust.

Is this design same like a catamaran with ultimate stability upside down?

As @Ad Hoc would say "that depends" . Like a cat they have massive stability. Without a mast and sails, it would take extraordinary circumstances to turn one over. Once inverted is where the "depends" comes in. How stable upside down?

Well, what would safe seas be? Like, is she good for 10 footers or 20 footers on Cape Scott?

Pretty much any 'conventional' monohull powerboat is (also) going to be very happy (stability wise) if it is upside down, unless it is specifically designed to have a positive GZ righting lever through 180 degrees (like many lifeboats, eg the RNLI), perhaps by means of a watertight deckhouse structure.
But this does depend on all the doors and hatches being closed properly in the event that the boat does capsize.

Quick question: does rain water pose any danger to an Al tank, or just sea water?
