Does anyone have any good pictures of print-through? I feel like most builders have gotten good enough that you rarely see this anymore. The last I saw was on a gunboat at the Annapolis boat show. Maybe 2016. Below is a picture from their website and you can see it a little.

I may have some panels I've made in the past showing print through. I made a dozen or so panels showing many different surface defects for our training classes. I'll see if I can find the pics.

This series of panels were to show post cure and the resulting print through on dark colors. The pic of us was the reflection off the panel prior to putting it in the sun. The following pics were after a few hours in direct sunlight. Each panel had different fabrics near the surface of the laminate to show the affect of each one.

These aren't the pics I originally had in mind, but were the first ones I found. It was from a 9 day tooling class I taught in South Korea.

I was trying to figure out what fabric was behind each print through, pretty hard to tell. I guess what started my thinking was I have seen print through that clearly shows a light weave (6oz cloth) that doesn't lot as terrible because it looks organized and consistent as opposed to some that I have seen that are rather chaotic.

    Thanks for the pictures.

It's not easy tell the pattern and extent of the print through in pics sometimes.

Between the tape lines there were different fabrics at different depths in the laminate schedule. Plus the gel coat thickness changed, and some areas had a barrier coat. It was quite obvious when looking at the panels in person, but the lighting wasn't that good, it was cloudy with sort a flat light.

There are so many variables when it comes to print through that making test panels with the exact products and methods that are going to be used in production is required to predict the outcome.
