As you can see the one sits high and the othe sits flush with no torque specs. When I torque down only the center rubber in bushing goes down or the entire bushing get press out 1/8-1/4” having to remove bell housing and re seat.

Is it only the starboard mount that sits high, or can you tighten either one down and the other sits high?

Port side has the space resting or torqued down.

Is the seat ring installed first up thru bell housing before bushing install like the pic?

Dumb question, but was the old ring removed on both sides?

.....or has it been loose on one side, so that the spiral washer has "gnawed" a pocket on that side? Are the fiber washers centered around the bolt hole properly (have seen a washer out of center causing the rubber mount to "ride" on its edge).

Yes both removed and inspected. Pressed the bushing out with those rings with a ball joint tool. Placed new seat rings flat side in first from freezer into a sun baked bell housing. Seated with a solid sound the press new bushing in which could go either direction.
I pull motor today and look at spring washer surface to see any gnawing but remember it was all flat and smooth.

Are there any marks on the bellhousing from hitting anything? This is really weird.

I’m gonna mount bell housing and torque 35 and see if port side closes down. I’m wondering if port side clearance is correct and need to focus on the starboard side that maybe too far down. IDK just thinking

You can't get them too far down. I would try bolting the bellhousing alone without the engine.

Clever advice. The metal center in the rubber mount stands about 2.5 mm clear of the housing surface.

Bell housing spacing is equal when mounted free. It’s 2.5 mm between fiber washer and bell housing.

So they seat properly. Does the new engine have the old exhaust manifolds and risers? It could be that they are the cause of interference if they are different.
