Have an engine aglinment issues with a new motor install due to the rear motor mount bushing were upside causing the rear to sit high. So I order and received new bushings and appears they can be mounted up or down so I install them with the rear bolts dropping much easier and torque to 35ft lbs. To get in the ball park I inserted a pvc pipe with equal space from top to bottom but left to right/side to side is off not letting aglinment tool to enter. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Might be the front being low instead..., have you checked?

Pic front front and rear really didn’t show much and really don’t know what other info. New motor, new bushing and parts.

There is no lateral adjustment. Is the gimbal bearing able to move in all directions? If it is stuck it will feel like there is an alignment problem when actually the gimbal is not aligned.

Yes the gimbal bearing spins left and right freely. The rear motor mounts don’t sit evenly no matter how I adjust the front of the motor. When I torque them down on has more space between the fiber washer than the other side.

That sounds like the mounts were not pressed completely into the bellhousing.

In that case I assume you could see that both mounts protrude the same amount.

I checked with V caliper and flush mounted. I’m completely baffled along with three other employees that are pretty sharp. It’s like one leg of a chair shorter not sitting down. When I tighten down that one rear mount the rubber pushes down to seat on that one side only. Bell housing won’t rest on fiber washer.
Have had motor in and out for several months working on off an on frustrated. All boat shop down here on South Gulf Coast have no experience on inboard/outboard. Nothing but saltwater fishing boats down here.

It sound like there is some kind of interference. How is the shifter cable routed?

Power steering hoses out along with exhaust, all cables up high tied up clean no obstruction. The the one shift cable routed properly from factory clear is there with no visual markings. I appreciate all you help and question and will take some pics soon.
