    :) you think?

To get a Nobel Prize one must publish. Would it count if the publication was Boatdesign.net Web forums? 'Cause otherwise, I'll just have to settle for a Noble Prize.

That's actually a very convincing piece of evidence.

I wasn't reading the article the same way. I thought they were saying that the ocean was increasing its CO2 independently, but I see your point.

I would have to do a more thorough analysis of the numbers, but my initial response is that the numbers don't add up. The amount of increase of CO2 that is being reported doesn't seem consistent with the proportion they are attributing to human activity. I admit that I could be wrong about that. I don't want anyone to get the erroneous impression that I know anything. I just have a hard time with how heavy handed the reporting is around the entire issue. It is clear the Earth is changing and it is a mistake to accept one statement over another about why and how because it is consistent with one political dogma over another. It is also clear that "science" is a tool that is often leveraged for political purposes and is used in a fallacious 'Appeal to Authority' because most of us can't know.

I did do a rough calculation based upon what I could find out about the amount of ice in Antarctica and was surprised to discover that indeed there seems to be enough ice to raise the oceans as high as they claim. However, a very large amount of that ice is sitting on bedrock that is thousands of feet below sea level, So, if my rough calculations were correct, then the possible effects on sea level have been greatly exaggerated. I could not find any specific information that distinguished "ice above sea level" in any of the reports. I did, however, find statements that made it clear they were only using the comparison for illustration purposes and not claiming a full fifty meters of sea level rise would occur. Is this a purposeful obfuscation or thoughtless or am I misinterpreting the information? I don't know, but skepticism will remain my default on either side of this issue.

In the mean time, I recycle and support electric over fossil fuels for vehicles, although I can't afford an electric car myself. I'll have to live with what I got, 'cause there are no trade-ins in my near future.

Peace, love, God bless, and do your Dharma to get good Karma.

Oops! All those poor grades in spelling are coming back to haunt me. <laugh>
The reason the science has become politicized is because the decisions of how to react to AGW are, unavoidably, political. Any noble (or is it nobel?) personal decisions we might make in our own lives are totally insufficient to solve the problem. It's a global problem that can only be solved with global solutions.
I'm skeptical about your melting Antarctic ice conclusions. Care to share your sources and calculations?
My problem as well. I buy small, used, high mpg vehicles, and then run them to ~250K miles. I thought of buying a used hybrid-electric vehicle with an out-of-warranty battery and replacing it myself. But I've heard that if you do anything wrong with those high-powered batteries you can easily kill yourself.
Thanks. :) I enjoy our discussions, and appreciate your logic, thoughtfulness, carefulness, and civility.

Scare mongering is using people's inability to think logically as a means to manipulate them into surrendering their freedoms to the corrupt masterminds.

How many glaciers are there today?

Imaginary number recently admitted the AGW agenda is to use government to force everyone to cooperate with their philosophy. Our agenda is to force government to keep hands off, and not to interfere with our Creator endowed individual freedoms. We are not required to join the lemmings.and the government has no authority to require us to.

HERE IS HIS QUOTE. "The reason the science has become politicized is because the decisions of how to react to AGW are, unavoidably, political. Any noble (or is it nobel?) personal decisions we might make in our own lives are totally insufficient to solve the problem. It's a global problem that can only be solved with global solutions."

When there is one world government the antichrist will run it. Without the mark of the beast you won't be allowed to purchase food.

I'm very fond of food. What is the mark of the beast. Where can I get one? Maybe I got one with my COVID vaccine along with that tracking microchip? <laugh>

Satellites Show How Earth's Water Cycle Is Ramping Up as Climate Warms

The rate at which plants and the land surface release moisture into the air has increased on a global scale between 2003 and 2019. These processes are collectively known as evapotranspiration. Researchers determined that evapotranspiration’s rate of increase is up to two times higher than previous estimates, and is mostly due to warming temperatures. This is important because evapotranspiration represents a critical branch of the global water cycle – a cycle that creates the conditions for life on land.

“Images of melting glaciers and shrinking ice sheets are a palpable way for us to understand the impacts of global warming,” said Pascolini-Campbell. “But dramatic changes are also happening to other key components of our planet’s water cycle that aren’t so visible, such as when water evaporates from the land before it can enter the rivers as runoff.”

The study was published in Nature

perhaps the glaciers are smaller but they still exist. AGWers are infamous and notorious for trick photographs. Take a picture in winter one year and in the hottest summer month another or even the same year and post them as degraded glaciers or polar bears or other warped propaganda. AGWers are not trustworthy.! Win anyway you can is your ethic. Resist you with all my might is mine.

As none of the photographs show a general snow cover outside of the snowfields themselves, or sea ice on the ocean, I think it fair to assume that all the photos were taken during the summer. Your skepticism speaks volumes regarding your poor judgement and faulty logic.

Like I said, I've been on Arapaho Glacier, which I showed a photo of, plus Grinnell Glacier, below. I know, from personal observation, that they've shrunk just in my lifetime.

Here are some more before and after photos of glaciers that were posted earlier in this thread.

The only person you are fooling is yourself. Quite sad to see someone whose mind was once was so competent go downhill so far, so fast.

Glaciers come and go but will return and there is not a thing you can do to stop either process.
Back to my original question: How many glaciers are there?

Earth's core is growing 'lopsided' and scientists don't know why | Live Science https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.livescience.com/amp/earth-inner-core-lopsided-crystal-growth.html

What's interesting is how they talk about the mantle and the inner core cooling the outer core, but not about how the outer core warms the mantle. The core cooling fastest under Indonesia means under the "Ring of Fire" where the Marianas Trench feeds crust material into the mantle. Just about 30 degrees East of there is where the El Niño/La Niña phenomenon occurs.

Seismic disturbances such as Earth quakes and atomic detonations probably help shake loose crust and mantle material loose to drift down through the outer core to join with the inner core.

BTW, i mentioned the viscosity of the outer core having a slowing effect on the rotation of the inner core. For a smooth spinning and symmetrical body, viscosity wouldn't be mush of a factor since such motion doesn't require medium disturbance or displacement. Only the surface area would be a consideration. Viscosity would have a great effect on any wobble or movement through the medium. The density of the inner core would give it enormous inertia to displace outer core material, but I suspect the molten outer core material has plenty of mass and viscosity to limit such things.

I still think the inner core can achieve harmonic displacement inside the Earth. With the Sun, the Moon, the Earth's natural spin and the occasional Astral bodies making near passes, even colliding into Earth and destroying dinosaurs, there has to be a complex gyration to the Inner Core's movements relative to the rest of Earth. A veritable heat generating dynamo.
