"Louis Burton (Bureau Vallée 2) is heading at low speed (9.2 knots) for Macquarie Island, which he should join in the next few hours, to repair his rigging. The good news is that since last night the skipper from Saint Malo can again rely on an autopilot which is good news as Burton hadn't slept since Thursday ..."
looks like lois burton is having some major issues.

Here is the current positions of the boats with next 24h wind prediction : unusual but interesting, could favor a regrouping of all these boats in one or 2 packs :

this is a weird weather situation for the southern ocean.
the high in front of the leaders seems to stay there for quite some time...

It looks unusually peaceful down there.Which is likely to lead to quite a long elapsed time by the standards of IMOCA's.I hope they all carry enough food for the time at sea.

Really impressive performance of Damien Seguin on Apicil, now third , a sailor disadvantaged (born without left hand) on a non foiler boat.

Bureau Vallée / Louis Burton is back in the rear of the dense chasing group : 10 boats grouped in just 250 NM, behind the leader Yannick Bestaven. Occitane / Armel Tripon also can be back in the 2-3 days which can be favorable for him (wind with less sea state than the leaders)

    BlueBell . . . _ _ _ . . . _ _ _

A true single-hander around the world, fancy that.

("Single-handed" is sometimes used to refer to a person sailing solo.)

Tell me his boat name is SINGLE HANDED.

Interesting video of Boris Hermann because you can see the speedo behind him, showing the permanent variations, up to a peak at 34 Knots or a slow at 12.

Bluebell, are you thinking of Tristan Jones' Outward Leg ?
"After seven years ashore and after having his left leg amputated, Tristan Jones decided to return to the sea. In October 1983, Jones and his only crew member, Wally Rediske, set out in Outward Leg, a 36-ft trimaran from San Diego, intending to circumnavigate the world from west to east by sail."

On this printscreen are the current positions of the boats with next 24h wind prediction : the 2 leaders Maitre Coq IV and Apivia are currently sailing as fast as possible, averaging 19-20 Knots, to slide in the south of the Low and avoid the worst of the expected stormy winds. It is a risk taking, to make a significant break with the chasing group. Pure Best Western Hotels, Occitane and Banque Pop can have a chance to join this group before the Cap Horn.

I'm asking myself whether there is enough sailing left for L'Occitane to get to the front of the fleet. An incredible performance so far,as indeed could be said of Charal ,they just don't seem to have the performance to overhaul the first five or so boats in the remaining miles. It has been a very close race but not outstanding in terms of regular daily runs achieved.
