That is the real cost. The others is just shifting an economy around.

It is the loss of money not made because forest is the chosen use for the land, instead of building farms or condos or drilling/mining or paving parking lots for a new mall.

Don't get me wrong, I support that, I'm just not alarmed by a report of costs for fixing a problem. It has no real effect on the larger economy because someone is also making that money, it isn't just spent and lost.

Who pays and how they pay is a political decision. We will soon have a different administration in the US, and it is likely that they will have a different point of view from the current administration. So for the next four years you will (grudgingly) have to go along with their policies, just like some of us have had to (grudgingly) go along with the policies of the current administration for the last four years. Or else you can move to Mexico... :)

Global November temperatures reached a record high, while Europe experienced its warmest autumn on record

Global average temperatures in November 2020 were the highest recorded for the month by a clear margin in the C3S data set. Reanalysis data show that November was close to 0.8°C above the standard 30-year reference period of 1981-2010, more than 0.1°C above the previous warmest Novembers of 2016 and 2019. Temperatures were most above average over a large region covering much of northern Europe, Siberia and the Arctic Ocean. Substantially higher than average temperatures also occurred over parts of the USA, South America, southern Africa, over the Tibetan Plateau, eastern Antarctica and most of Australia.

In Europe, November 2020 temperatures were particularly high, making it the joint second warmest November with 2009, 0.2°C below the temperature for November 2015. In contrast, temperatures were most below average over central Asia and western Antarctica.

How come YOU get to make blatant political speeches?

You wrongly presume the left can push and not get pushed back. Arrests of officials for election fraud are already happening and will snowball, all the way to the top of the dims. Biden isn't a sitting president unless he's sworn in Jan 20th. From jail? Can't.

The world’s rich need to cut their carbon footprint by a factor of 30 to slow climate change, U.N. warns
    • Global emissions are 62 percent higher now than when international climate negotiations began three decades ago
    • Nations need to triple their emissions-cutting pledges to limit the Earth’s warming to 2C
    • Nations need to increase pledges by 5 times to limit the Earth’s warming to 1.5C
    • The drop in greenhouse gas emissions during the pandemic will have almost no impact on slowing the warming
    • The emissions by the richest 1 percent are more than double those of the poorest 50 percent
    • The carbon footprint of the average American is twice the footprint of the average European, and 10 times that of the average Indian
The findings were published by the United Nations Environment Program.

Nations don't need to do anything. Leave them in peace and quit screwing up peoples' lives.

Emissions sixty three percent higher? Not only all the predictions of the ice caps disappearing and New York underwater, and the Earth too warm to inhabit never happened, but obviously temperatures have not increased sixty three percent. The whole notion of a connection between CO2 and global warming is disconnected and shown as false.

Sorry, who exactly made THOSE predictions? Science Fiction writers? It wasn't Climate Scientists!

And regarding "CO2 and global warming is disconnected and shown as false", that is just nonsense.
Try providing a recognizable authority on that, instead of touting the same uniformed commentators that you used for the other nonsense.

What Scientists actually predicted 30 years ago is HAPPENING!

Professor Abram said the El Niño year of 1998 was once Australia's hottest year on record.

"Now that year doesn't even rank in our in our top six and La Niña years are now warmer than that," she said.

This week the Bureau of Meteorology declared November the hottest November ever recorded in Australia, despite a La Niña weather pattern.
