Another hurricane

From the sat imagery it looks like an important crop for the region.

 

It laid down some. Same thing as usual.

Sugar cane is the main staple here. We are surrounded by the stuff.

 

I am glad it is a hardy crop.
I had a small stand of it when I was a kid.

 

It is. Hopefully with the rain, the sugar content goes up for the farmers. I hope they have a high yield.

 

We have another coming projected to hit New Orleans in the next week / 10 days or so. 2020 sucks.

we have not got hurricanes thank god. i really feel for you people that have. what we do have is too much rain,we have had our annual rainfall just in october, its having a bad effect on my business now. concretors can't get onsite to concrete so my trucks don't have any work to do. so i will be glad to see the end of 2020 as well.

 

Queensland seems the only part of Australia to get hit. Our hurricanes usually run between June 1 to December 1. When does Tropical Cyclone Season run there?

yes we don't get cyclones this far south, occasionally we might get some flooding when the cyclones turn into tropical lows and head south .
western australia and northern territory get hit with as many cyclones as queensland but with such a low population in those areas they don't do as much damage. the weather people say we are in la nina or el nino, i forget which but thats why we are getting so much rain.

 

I have no clue which one we're in. All I know is 2020 and these hurricanes need to exit stage left. And stay gone for a long long time.

 

Here in west central Florida I get jumpy anytime one gets near the Bahamas or the Keys. You never know when one will turn on you.
