‘‘ A Coble from the NE coast of England. A very deep forefoot and a huge plank rudder give lateral resistance. The rake of the keel line is said to mirror the slope of the launching beach. They are launched bow first. Broaching by tripping over the forefoot is a 'feature' of the type. ’’

I think we shall purchase a factory made boat.

They can be insured and are impervious to rot. Peanut will have more legroom.

I was told when we moved here we would need a bigger boat.

    1 - Neither.
2 - When it's already on the web there's no need to type it up, referring to it by a link should be sufficient for anyone who wants to know.
3 - Don't find it necessary to share that stuff about myself with the world.

    Re post #32:

At a closer look the 1908 built motor herring mule HL 28 Star of Hope of 45' and 22 tons looks a lot bigger and also has many other differences from the Coble above it which shares her name.

‘‘ . . . . In 1908 Ralph Cole had a new herring mule built at Hartlepool, she was bigger than his old boat, 45 feet overall and weighed 22 tons, and was fitted with a motor. This new Star of Hope had cost nearly £300, but Cole’s total investment was probably nearer twice this amount, if we consider he would have had to buy additional nets and other fishing gear for her. . . . . . . . The new boat was a financial disaster for Cole. The motor was unreliable, and he lost many days at sea during the 1908 herring season and, in May 1909, he declared himself bankrupt, with debts and legal bills amounting to about £400. . . . . ’’

Thanks, Angel. Might be slightly long but could make it work, though.
Salon seating arrangement would be nice to have. Looking at Tahoes now.
