Developable Surface Expanded in one dimension

    I have plans for set of trimaran amas and I want to increase the width x% and the length y%. Since the plates are developable, or very close. If I use a cad package and scale the drawings in the x & y direction by different percents, will the surface remain developable?

    Yes, the surface will remain developable. However the expanded (flattened) shape will not scale (unless scaled uniformly in all directions, ie x, y and z).
