Would I draw a boat just because I saw a model with a beautiful transom?

You bet I would. I was on vacation, and saw a model of a Tancook Island Schooner. The transom was gorgeous, so since I had some free time, I decided to take a break from my round the world Pinky Schooner design New design for a very old type of boat https://www.boatdesign.net/threads/new-design-for-a-very-old-type-of-boat.64107/ and draw one up. This isn't finished by any means, and I have no plans to build it. I just spent a few hours drawing it up in Delftship. If any one would like to take this further, the model is included. Delft Ship Is free to use, so download and enjoy.

    All comments welcome.

You rave about the beautiful transom, but none of the drawings do anything to highlight it!
Not to say that the boat isn’t gorgeous, that it is, and thanks for sharing.
I tried Google images too, but no pictures of her pretty butt there either, though there was plenty of eye candy.

Pictures 8 and 10 show the transom. This is just the transom

Hi David, you might also like the late Daniel Bombigher's transoms, and perhaps his whole designs, the plans are still for sale (not cheap), click the thumbs to go to the design series.

Dream, inspired by the famous American "Punghys" and the New-Yorker pilot "Dream" built by Isaac Webb in 1833, see the below "Louise" built in 1996 for some pictures.

For some more Bombigher boat pictures, the Shpountz 38-40 Daniel built in 1984 for himself is currently for sale in Almería, Spain.

This sounds eerily like a "transom fetish" a rare condition indeed.

I thought it was a pretty harmless fetish, and not a rare condition at all among the boater species . . :)

Beautiful drawings, and I myself, most comes to being a fantail fan.
    Yup, I'm a fanny guy ;)

The original lines of Isaac Webb's 1833 47' New York Pilot Schooner Dream are published by Howard Chapelle in his 1936 book Yacht Designing and Planning.

Reuel Parker published his take in more modern woodbuilding on Isaac Webb's Dream in his 2005 book - The New Cold-Molded Boatbuilding, on the pages* 5 - 10 - 289 - 296 - 297 - 298. (* in my copy)

Reuel is currently enjoying his retirement aboard his 53' Sardine Carrier Motor Sailer, but still would be happy to sell a set of plans of his take on the Dream I'll guess.

If he's out of reach then his friends (David forum link) BoatSmith and Scott might be able to help out to establish contact with Reuel.

    Here's Reuel's 60' centerboard pilot schooner design Leopard - link - 1 - 2 - 3

60' Leopard (draft 4' board up, 9' board down) anchored off Norman's Cay in the Exumas in 5' of water.

Reuel's house in Appleton, Maine is also for sale, Leopard is sold, her plans are still for sale though.
