Hello I am new to this forum and am looking for someone to draw up hull only plans for this boat. 20 ft. loa. 3 ft draft. 7.5 foot beam. Ballast approx 1300 lbs . Edge glued. Concete encapsulated keel. I am looking for stability not so much as speed.

I found this pic on the net and do not have any info on the boat. I would like to have the frames and keel ( stem, apron, deadwood etc.) drawn up if possible to this approx. shape.

Hello. I would like to use douglas fir on all structural parts of the boat and plank it with red cedar as these choices are native to my area.

Welcome to the Forum Ocean Cowboy.

The vessel in your photo looks rather similar to the Blue Moon Design by Thomas Gillmer - you can buy a set of plans for her from the Wooden Boat Store for US$ 150.

Full Moon is a larger 27' version of Blue Moon -

The Cape Cutter 19 looks similar to 'your' boat above the waterline, but below she is rather different -

Or how about the 21' Sundowner by John Welsford?

    Or a 23' Deben 4 3/4 tonner?

Or the lovely 20' Maid of Endor? She could be quite close to the photo you posted?

And finally (for now!) have a browse through the many lovely sailboat designs on Paul Gartside's page -

Bajansailor must have an eye like a dead fish (that is a compliment ! :)) to be able to select all those plans from that not-too-clear photo. Helpful, as always.

Thank you for the kind compliment Mr E! :)
I did have to save the photo to my computer, rotate it and enlarge it to get a better idea as to what she looks like.
I was thinking that Blue Moon and Maid of Endor are pretty close to her, but after subsequently going through Paul Gartside's designs, I think that one of his is probably the strongest contender for similarity.
Ocean Cowboy, there is no point in trying to get somebody to draw up a set of plans for you from a photo, when there are excellent plans available for so many similar vessels.

That is a typical old plank on edge design. They "sail on their ear" (very little initial stability). Why are you restricting materials to fir and red cedar? You will need oak or similar for timbers and definitely to steam bend frames. That design is a development under UK laws that made them measure at a much lower tonnage than they actually had.

Are you sure it is the same boat?

That photograph is a William Atkin Fore and Aft design named Tresaurus:

Atkin & Co. - Fore An' Aft http://www.atkinboatplans.com/Sail/ForeAnAft.html

Ben Bow is a bit beamier but along the same lines and the same length (28 foot 8)

    Atkin & Co. - Ben Bow http://www.atkinboatplans.com/Sail/BenBow.html

Plans from Pat Atkin are ridiculously cheap but were drawn up for plank on frame construction which is not difficult to do but is time consuming and if you are going to get a yard to build it for you, it will not be cheap nowadays!
