Any boat building software that is easy to use out there?

By this I assume you mean, once the structural arrangement is drawn (within the CAD environment) for each frame for build and plan approval, ... a cutting file is produced from these frame shapes, such as below:

The nesting of frames for a sheet of plate, like above, is usually a different software than that which the frames are drawn.
Unless you wish to to do this manually within the same CAD software.

That cannot be a real cliché for numerical control cutting. Too many mistakes.
With no intention of polemicizing, only with the intention of clarifying the issue, of course, with the same program you can draw the parts, create the nesting for those parts and generate the file for cnc. Most numerical control cutting machines or routers can read files created with drawing programs, for example the AutoCAD .dwg files.

What are you referring to - manually "nesting" the parts in the same CAD enviornment used to create their shapes? Or are you referring to using separate software for nesting?
Using the "same program" to draw parts and create the nesting is possible but it is not the only possibility.

There are many different suppliers of nesting software. One claims to have over 21,000 installations of their software. A quick search brings up

DCockey, I do not understand the first part of your post. I have not talked about manual nesting. But, if you ask me, I prefer semi-automatic nesting, that is, that there is some help automatically but that the user has full control. And, yes, the same software for drawing and nesting. After all, nesting is nothing more than a drawing. Then, if necessary, a post processor will create the machine-language file.
(I correct my post: using "the same software"). Of course, I agree with you, there are other possibilities and many of them are very good.

    I'll try again.
    What does "That" refer to?

    Indeed there are.

The commonly adopted procedure is to buy proprietary software to perform this task. The data is taken from the CAD data of the frames drawn/designed. Since most CAD programmes are merely just that, CAD.
Almost no one uses their CAD programme to do this manually, well, commercially that is. Since even a few % saving on a sheet of plate = money saved! Even more so when a design has many different plate thickness and the luxury of attempting to fit every item onto a sheet does not exist. Thus Nesting programmes aid in reducing the wastage.

Unless of course one wishes to do this within the CAD programme manually, which we had to do many years ago before such nesting programmes like you listed even existed.
