Might as well put the whole machine plus the rider in a fairing....

Feet forward looks more comfortable for touring though....

Not your average back yard bird. Scared the heck out of me when it flew up and perched outside my window. A turkey vulture.

Great pic Jolly, is the Turkey Vulture eating the Black-bellied Whistling-Duck ducklings as they're leaving the nest boxes . . ?

OK thanks, I'm not sure if I'm happy for the ducklings, or feel sorry for the vulture, what is it going to eat now ?

As eating road kill is very dangerous for vultures !

Don't worry, I'm sure it gives back change if you put in a $ 500 note.

Curiously enough, the local vultures have been observed by many folks to drag any road kill off the street onto the median or the sidewalk where they can eat in peace without concern for the passing cars. It is believed that it is a learned behavior that they pass on. I have witnessed it myself on a few occasions. It is also a cross species behavior as the black vultures have been observed with this behavior as well. Here is a cute family of black vultures enjoying the garden path.

After I came across this I'd been watching a recorded show and when it was over the TV reverted to whatever happened to be on: a show about lotteries and lottery winners.

At that moment they were addressing a scam involving people getting calls saying they'd won the Jamaican Lottery and they could claim their winnings but first they needed to send money to cover the taxes. It was said that even school kids during lunch break have been seen running this scam on mostly elderly Americans.

That people would fall for that scam is bad enough (actually considering that lotteries are taxes on people who can't do math that's saying a lot) but apparently one aspect of the scam (if anyone ever falls for it a little) is the abusive an threatening calls should they ever stop sending money.

I wish I was amazed that people are so trusting to begin with: the IRS does not call people and your credit card company/bank does not need you to confirm your account number, social security or other personal information when they call you out of the blue...

... and really Microsoft doesn't need all the data they slurp but, well, that's the difference between a scam and an abusive relationship....

Smarter than the squirrels that always seem to run out when a car is approaching....
