Engine starts but immediately dies. Even after increasing RPM's the engine immediately stops.
    Any thoughts? Thank you

    I'd suspect fuel first.
Borrow another small fuel can and connection hose, and see if that changes things.

It's an 88hp. Engine will not idle. When starting the engine will rev then almost immediately dies.

    rw is best guess

This sounds like a problem with fuel.

Ethanol added fuels can cause this symptom when water separates. Happens here all the time to lawnmowers and they do the same thing.

Run some high octance, non additive fuel through it and see if any change.

OK, that is the old V4, for which a workshop manual is readily available. It obviously does sound like a fuel delivery issue, but the easiest way to proceed is to get the manual, and work through the troubleshooting procedures, that answer to your description of the problem. It may be that the idle setting is out of whack, when you raise the throttle lever to start, are you leaving it there, or dropping it back immediately it fires ? Are you keeping the choke depressed ( it is probably more likely a solenoid injection type) ?

check the red lever on the fuel primer, is it pointing down the solenoid ( correct or away, wrong)
