Hi, I am currently designing a SWATH vessel on MAXSURF, and I want to do the damage stability check. However, my compartments seem wrong to me. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my model? Thanks A lot. upload_2018-4-30_18-31-30.png

At first glance there seems to be a lot of bad things in the starboard hull. The best thing is to erase it and define all surfaces of the port hull as symmetrical.
If you load the .msd file it will be easier for us to analyze what happens in your model.

Hi, Thank you for your response, I did my model in rhino and converted it to MAXSURF, it seems to have some problem, but I can't really identify it because I am really new at this software.

I'm sorry but even I can not open the file with Maxsurf. Maybe it's a more advanced version than 14, which is what I have.
Could you load the Rhino file?

I have exported the model, in .igs format, to Maxsurf, without any problem.

Thank you so much, so can I use this model to run maxsurf stability test?

Hi, after I read the user manual, I found out that I can't set the prismatic to DITTO for my compartment, is it because of the model surface problem?
    Thank you.

Sorry not to try to solve your problem, but first of all, I would need the maxsurf file again with your definition of tanks and secondly, and more important, I think you should define the hulls again because what you has defined, for fully submerged hulls, it does not make sense. Think of the submarines' hulls.

Sorry for late reply, it doesn't allow me to upload my maxsurf stability file. And I dun really understand by defining the hull as a fully submerged hull.
Sorry about that, I am really new at this and thank you for your patience.

Sorry, I still can not open your .msd file
This is what I mean when I talk about the shape of the submerged hulls.

I think you're getting way ahead of yourself here.

Firstly do you have a Lines Plan?...if so, do you have a set of hydrostatics from this Lines Plan?

Yes, I understand that. Let say if I just use the file imported from rhino, what other steps do I need to do in maxsurf modeler other than setting the frame before going to maxsurf stability.
