I wonder if he'll see the rescue ship.

Or if the rescue ship will see him, before the sharks and the water spout get him...

Incidently, what sort of a boat is he in?

Nick, that's gonna be hiding for a dead woman who drowned in a river in Denmark . .

Though she might turn out to be surprisingly lively when she reaches your coast on Monday . .

Sam Sam, Nick, thankyou, its great to be able to flesh out the picture. Its easy to imagine, before the invention of photography, that paintings were often subject to 'artistic licence' and fantasy; often they are historically accurate records too, in part if not in whole.

Aah, although it appears that she drowned, in fact she met her fate in an altogether more unfortunate way, as the very talented Kiskiloszki reveals:

... and it would seem that shortly, all the evidence will be consumed!

Ophelia has been and nearly gone now for us. Although offshore there were record gusts recorded (100kn) , it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Quite a lot of fallen or broken trees but the storms a few years ago seemed to me to do more damage.

I took this video locally, South facing but protected by islands. The storm was well passed its peak. As I look left there is a 30ft white yacht in the distance that has been dumped on the rocks above the water, keel and all even though it was less than half tide rising when the storm hit. I'm amazed that people left their boats there given the forecast.

View from the yards this morning. I don't know the windspeed but I'd estimate about 55kn. It's blowing spray off the water straight from the shore

There was a rescue of a small yacht with three people in the Irish sea...what kind of person puts to sea in a pleasure boat with a well publicised hurricane warning at least a week in advance? ...Maybe they were attempting to "bug out"??
