Let's hear three-cheers for our FREEDOM to sink...

Hundreds of icebergs clog shipping lanes near Newfoundland, rerouting ships | Toronto Star

Since late March an influx of over 600 icebergs have floated into the North Atlantic and south past Labrador and Newfoundland, with nearly 300 icebergs in the area where the Titanic when down in 1912. This quantity is not usually seen until May or June, with an average of 80 icebergs for this time of year. As a result of the large number of icebergs shipping has had to divert hundreds of miles south.

So nice to have the FREEDOM to fry...

The Indian Hot Season Began Two Months Early This Year — And the Worst is Yet to Come | Robert Scribber

India's hot season started in February this year, two months early. Temperatures in some coastal provinces had already rocketed to above 100 degrees F (38 C). Late February temperatures for Konkan hit as high as 104 F (40 C) even as Mumbai and Ratnagiri hit 100 F (38 C).

If temperatures started out hot, they’ve only grown hotter. By late March, Nagpur had hit as high as 109 F (43 C ) on Tuesday of last week — its thirteenth straight day of highs above 104 F (40 C). Last week New Dehli saw the end of an 8 day streak of 100 F (38 C) + readings. And places like Bhira were already imposing noon curfews to protect residents from the heat. By April 5, most of the country was experiencing above 100 F (38 C) readings.

Temperatures in late February and March for this region hit a range that is more typical of the height of the hot season from April to May. And when one considers the fact that India has experienced extreme heat and drought for at least the past two years running, the present context is notably disturbing.

I am raising funds to pedal around the world. Literally. I will be circumnavigating the world in a pedal powered boat while also biking around the countries that I stop at. While doing so I will be taking photos, videos, and blogging about the things, places, people and experiences. So that everyone can travel with me. To see what I see. To go where I go.

Physical requirements of pedaling the distance. I know it won't be easy and that I will be spending hours every day pedaling. The beginning will be the hardest, but I won't give up. As with the Tortoise and the Hare - slow and steady wins the race. Even if it takes longer than I plan to travel from one place to the next, I won't stop. For me it's not a race to see how fast I can circumnavigate the world, because the journey is just as important.

It's still very warm, all in the name of FREEDOM

The last three years have set record-setting temperatures. Part of that is due to the effects of an unusually strong El Nino. In 2017, even though the El Nino has been broken, NASA says we are still getting usually warm months. Wonder how long it will be before the Denier-In-Chief completely throttles NASA's climate-science division?

January 2017 Was Third-Warmest January On Record

February 2017 Was Second Warmest February On Record

March 2017 Was Second Warmest March on Record

Global map of the March 2017 LOTI (land-ocean temperature index) anomaly shows
that Europe and all of Russia (especially north central Siberia) were again much warmer
than the 1951-1980 base period. Much of the United States was also relatively warm,
    but Alaska was instead cool.

You must be pretty desperate to dredge up that piece of discredited ancient history. From your link:
Since writing his opinion on the Hockey Stick topic, Muller had the good judgement to put his actions where his words were and founded the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature (BEST) project, which sought to analyse Earth Temperature using methods designed to address "scientific concerns including urban heat island effect, poor station quality, and the risk of data selection bias." After Muller completed his study (which was funded, in part, by the extremely conservative Koch Brothers), he was scientifically honest enough, and ethically principled enough, to admit that the scientific consensus on human-influenced global warming was correct, and that he had been incorrect. These traits are noticeably lacking in certain forum members and national politicians.

I sure hope our FREEDOMS aren't melting away...

Antarctic Surface Melt More Widespread Than Thought | Climate Central

While prior research has focused on the melting of glacial termini by seawater, two studies published in Nature are showing that surface melt across Antarctica is more widespread than previously thought. The melting varies from a collection of ponds to a roaring seasonal river that dumps meltwater into the ocean via a 400-foot-wide waterfall. The ubiquity and variety of these meltwater systems may mean they are more important to the future stability of Antarctica’s ice shelves than scientists had realized.

The different types of meltwater drainage systems could raise different possibilities for ice sheet stability. Melt ponds helped to destabilize the Larsen B ice shelf by absorbing more solar energy and seeping into crevasses in the ice and causing it to further fracture. But an efficient river system like that found on the Nansen ice shelf could actually protect the ice shelf. By quickly exporting meltwater from the ice sheet, the river could prevent that energy absorption and infiltration of cracks. But the meltwater streams could also help transport meltwater to more vulnerable parts of the ice.

A relatively flat ice shelf (a) is likely to have numerous melt ponds and streams,
which could destabilize the shelf by infiltrating crevasses and causing more fracture,
while an ice shelf with a steeper slope (b) may have more of a large river network
that could export meltwater off the ice shelf.

Shedding Light on South Florida's Sea Level Rise
Climate change is an urgent threat to humanity, yet many people feel that it is distant and are not motivated to act. In America the issue has become politicized, hindering systemic solutions. In Miami, the sea could rise two or three feet by 2050. Saltwater is intruding on the freshwater aquifers that supply 7 million Floridians with drinking water. People will be displaced, insurance costs and infrastructural needs are increasing and critical ecosystems like the Everglades and coral reefs are degrading...the impacts are already costly.
We are partnering with Southeast Florida Climate Compact, a first-of-its-kind regional bipartisan partnership among Florida’s four southern counties, to develop"Save or Sink Miami." We will leverage the power of virtual reality to educate and engage people and leaders on this urgent issue, its tangible impacts, and solutions.

I live on the Florida coast. The sea level is not rising here so one can only conclude that Miami is sinking under the weight of its own.
