    TO THE SEA
If you knew that the existence of entire island nations was under threat, would you stay silent?

    https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/to-the-sea-adventure#/

I’ve been known as ‘Dolphin Girl’ among friends, family, and acquaintances alike since before I had even*hit my teens*after watching*the*oscar award winning documentary The Cove (2010). I*locked myself in my bedroom for a weekend and eventually emerged with*a website that*detailed*all the horrific aspects of the Taiji dolphin slaughter that I could get my hands on. I may not have known it then, but that was just*the beginning of what would become a lifetime's worth of work in the field of conservation.
As a diver, it wasn't long before I'd come to acquire a basic underwater camera set up that became one of my most prized possessions. It let me capture the beauty I saw in the underwater world and share it with the people I loved.*While producing a feature length documentary might not have been in the cards when I was in middle school, the passion that has led to the fruition of this film project certainly took root back then.*
I’ve always thought of the term ‘Dolphin Girl’ as endearing, but as time has gone on, and I’ve broadened my own horizon of conservation efforts, I’ve begun to see it as a way that others less familiar with the importance of preserving the environment*are able to label me in accordance to my ‘hobbies’ or ‘interests.’ My love for the*planet and*its creatures wasn't and still isn't*the status quo, it’s something worthy of a title that distinguishes me from the crowd. Maybe*that was the problem. Conservation is seen as a hobby, not a necessity.*It's been my mission to change that notion in a big way through the power of storytelling ever since I first got*my hands on a camera, and To The Sea*is the embodiment of that mission.
I may be young, but I'm no stranger to the conservation world. But don't take my word for it*-- here are some published articles about my work in the years since I started on my conservation*journey:

    From the above link . . . .
    Nice video [IMG]
But how much fuel will be burned, polluting the earth and putting a lot of CO2 in the environment, to get these girls by ---> Car ---> Jet Plane ---> Car ---> Powerboat ---> from Vancouver Island in Canada to somewhere on the Islands in the South Pacific, and back by ---> Powerboat ---> Car ---> Jet Plane ---> Car --->
All this petrochemicals burning and all this polluting to educate us not to do so . .
Why doesn't anybody tell these girls to start with themselves and do the same job with a Sailboat starting at home . .

The above video was shot around Vancouver Island BC, it's one of the boats of Pacific Pro Dive & Marine Adventures in Courtenay there.

It's not too late to make the girls aware of the hypocritical part post #2198 of their mission, and get them the idea of a sailboat, as the first link by Myark says....

Who will post the sailboat idea to ---> Ella Van Cleave = Quote ---> To The Sea Facebook ---> To The Sea Instagram ---> Website To The Sea ---> Contact . . . ? ? ?

To convince them of the environmental & costs part wouldn't be too much of a burden for one of you guys, wouldn't it . . . ;)

P.S. - Maybe just to send a link to post #2198 will do, and maybe it will get them to have a chat with us here . .

This is a youtube link of a popular journalist Geoff Mackley filming onboard a Myark folding trailer barge during a animal rights protest in New Zealand when I donated 3 of my Myark folding trailer barges and myself as the peaceful protesters bodyguard against the redneck drunken cowards with fire arms.

If I were to be reprimanded I can't think of a better person to do it than an Angel. [IMG]

One of the most troubling ideas about climate change just found new evidence in its favor | Washington Post

For a decade climate scientists have been debating whether a warming climate not only increases the intensity of extreme weather events, but also whether it increases the persistence of weather events? That is, can we expect that droughts will last longer, or that downpours will last longer, or that heatwaves will last longer?

A study published in Nature finds "that at least in the spring and summer, the large scale flow of the atmosphere is indeed changing in such a way as to cause weather to get stuck more often."

Climate change is natural and has always gone through cycles. The taking our freedom will not change that and is a very dangerous and foolhardy course of action. It has been tried before with grave results.

Oh stop being such a panty-wetting alarmist. Nobody is trying to take your freedom. We just want a reasonable world to live in, which unfortunately requires us to deal effectively with the current non-natural climate change.

There is no need for this process to result in people being enslaved, or in economies being ruined. In fact, many projections indicates either no net economic penalty, or even a range of economic benefits, if things are handled properly.

It just means a bit of technological change. You can still have your freedom, and your grandchildren can still have a decent climate, as long as enough people are sensible.

Python Swallows Indonesian Man Whole, With Aftermath Caught on Video

    http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/world...ght-on-video/ar-BBz1pdK?li=AAgfYrC&ocid=wispr

Human-animal encounters are common in Indonesia, a tropical archipelago that contains Asia’s largest swath of rain forest. Environmentalists worry that such encounters will only increase because of the country’s rapid rate of rain forest destruction, which disrupts ecosystems and leads predators to seek new prey.

According to Junaedi, a village official who briefed the news media on Tuesday, villagers had heard shouting the day of the attack but assumed it was simply someone hunting pigs, because no one had cried for help. The next day, a search party was sent, and the python was found.

We pledge to never take away your freedom to bury your head in the sand, but we may take away the sand... [IMG]

Without more sand, SoCal stands to lose big chunk of its beaches |Christian Science Monitor

A study by the US Geological Survey forecasts a six-foot rise in sea level and says preserving California's beaches will require more sand and a sustained, coordinated commitment to distributing it.
