    HI.TROOPS SEE ATTACHMENT.
Not often you see a 40 knot work barge, built in Qld by Everingham boats.I had to use a 60mph ski boat for the film shoot.

What makes it worth to move a small crane that fast at the costs of running 3 x 250 HP outboards . .

Literally running competition out of business by getting to more jobs with that extra speed?

Might work in a place where there aren't many operating such boats.

Given the labeling on the hull it's the government itself at work there, perhaps they can easily pass the costs to their levies . .

There has to be a Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner gag in there somewhere that ends with "*voom!* There he goes!"

    Quick Barge

Angeliqe: as I understand the vessel is primarily used as beacon and marker repairs-replacement,as the barge is based at Southport there area extends well up Moreton Island, so it usually has a fair distance to site, teh vessel it replaces was a smaller unit that could not carry the loads required.
You would have to do the maths, fuel expended against overtime for crew.

Speed sometimes lets you beat a sudden storm in which a 4 knot barge would be caught.
