The above are lies, all lies, or total stupidity and/or ignorance.

The sabertooth cats were killed by proto-Amerindians, with stone age tools. http://smilodoncat.weebly.com/cause-of-extinction.html
The carrier pigeons are still around, but the passenger pigeons were wiped out by hunters with roasted squab on their minds. http://www.wildbirds.org/apidesay.htm
The dodo birds just had no natural enemies until the Europeans arrived with animals for which the birds had no defense. http://scienceline.ucsb.edu/getkey.php?key=55

Viewed from a vantage point above the Earth's north pole, the Earth appears to revolve in a counterclockwise direction about the Sun, that's the red orbit of one rev a year in the render, showing the the start of the Earth's four seasons.

Viewed from the same vantage point above the Earth's north pole, the Earth appears to rotate one rev a day also in a counterclockwise direction about her axis of rotation, shown in purple in the render.

So I would think the girl who is trying to slow down the Earth's rotation by counterclockwise spinning herself is situated nearby the Earth's celestial south pole to make her theory work.

I'm afraid that's true . . . :( - Which would make the bringing mass to the equator technique of the Snowbirds the better option to win time . . .

    Houston, we have a problem . . .

I'm thinking the South Pole is too cold for our spinner.

If for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, then for the girl to spin herself CCW she must spin the Earth CW. At the South Pole the Earth is already spinning CW, so her added momentum speeds the Earth up even faster. But at the North Pole the CW momentum she imparts counters the Earth's CCW momentum.

Though I could be mistaken... :)

Ignoring Trump’s Skepticism, Davos Elite Bets on Climate Change | Bloomberg

The World Economic Forum is devoting 15 sessions of its 2017 annual meeting to climate change, and nine more to clean energy -- the most ever on the issues. "Climate change is material and central for many companies and their boards." Xi Jinping will be the first sitting Chinese president to attend Davos, after making green finance a key topic for China’s presidency of the Group of 20 nations last year. "If President-elect Trump doesn’t want to go there then he is going to be very out of step."

Climate Change Could Turn Britain Into a Major Wine Producer | Time

Estimates of changes in rain and temperature conditions suggest that by 2100 conditions in central and eastern England may be ideal for Sauvignon Blanc while Scotland could produce Pinot Grigio. Meanwhile, the warming over the past several decades that has helped French wine producers may fade with increased warming.

    Earth Temperature Timeline[/INDENT]

RE That stupid long graph with the temperatures:

I can't be the only one who wonders how they think they know (to within a fraction of a degree) what the temperature was 500,1000,10,000 and 20,000 years ago, but yet but no one can tell us what the temperature will be the day after tomorrow with any accuracy..

The short answer is, "they don't".

The more complex answer is multi-part:

First, since accurate thermometers weren't available thousands of years ago, a number of different temperature proxies are developed, then combined to give a single temperature.

And second, the average non-scientist doesn't process "error-bars", "standard deviation", and "95% confidence" very well. What they want is a "sausage," not a "recipe" of how the "sausage" is made.

How many of those who regularly read this thread read only the post, but not the linked article? And of those who regularly read the articles, how many go on to read the actual scientific report? Not many, I'd guess (including myself). It takes too much time, and we aren't scientifically literate enough.

Fighting climate change may need stories, not just data | The Economist
    Climate change, myth and religion

Stories engage people much better than cold, hard facts. Religions have known that for ages, and used stories to promote their agenda. Sadly, differences between narratives can also promote sharp, even deadly, divisions.

Obviously, Hoyt has a different story to tell than the story that Climate Scientists wish to tell. And he backs up his story in a different fashion then they do.

You only mean the so-called climate scientists who are shills for the leftist, fascist tyrannical big government types who bullied the other climate scientists into silence even though they had the better and truer argument.

Climate change to shift global pattern of mild weather | PHYS.org

A NOAA-sponsored study calculates that the number of mild days (defined as between 64 and 86 degrees F, with less than a half inch of rain and dew points below 68 degrees F) will decrease globally by four days by 2035, and will decrease 10 days by 2100. The losses will not be uniform over the globe, but will hit hardest in Africa, Asia and Latin America, with U.S., Canada, northern Europe to gain in number of mild days.
