    yawn, foil shmoil

It looks as boring as watching watching paint dry while standing on a bucket with your arms outspread. Just because you can foil doesn't mean you should.

Well, watching people ride their road bikes doesn't look any more entertaining.
    Yet, people love riding bikes.

It may look dull, but my interest is in lightweight sailing dinghies (preferably foilers) that can undertake long coastal cruises. There are often strong currents that make a motor essential for safety, but if you can use less energy to beat the current by foiling and reducing the amount of time you need to run that motor, you could get away with a lighter setup which doesn't impact on the sailing performance so much, and you might even be able to use something quiet instead of some ghastly thing that makes a peace-shattering din and which involves danagerous, polluting liquids.

Wrong argument, its not about foiling boards as a spectator sport, it's alluding to the novelty of foiling being it's only redeeming feature. Put a foil on it and Doug cant help himself.

So your focus is personal attack on Doug? I understand that me or you don't see foils as redeeming feature no matter what they are attached to, still discussing the subject or skipping it makes more sense than this.
