Wait for some other opinions, but I'd be surprised if you were encouraged to proceed.

Sorry, I mean if anything I would like to add the PVC fabric to the bottom for more protection. I'm planing to keep this thing for a while so adding on extra material would help me keep it longer.

Why don't you make a V shaped tube that blows up an gets rigged and attach that to the hull. You can deflate it for storage or travel.

Sorry, not sure what that would be for? Just an extra buffer so if anything that pops first? Also would this be permanently attached or temporarily with cables or something?

Xyberz, A friend gave me what was left of an above ground swimming pool. The walls that held the liner was about 3/16" and made of some PVC type plastic. I used it for many things. Wish I could find another scrap pool.

    You're kidding, right?
That thing looks like the Corvair of inflatables, ie, unsafe at any speed, and certainly unsafe in any kind of waves and wind, which are both very much a part of any boating activities in Hawaii.
Don't know where you got the idea that that thing could be used in the ocean, it is really more of a pool toy. Put away that idea before you hurt yourself and your friends, and possibly the people that will have to try and rescue you.
Lake Wilson might be a better destination for this craft, it is definitely not what you need for ocean activities.

While I agree with the others, to actually answer your question, you can usually get the pvc from people who do canvas work but it will be much tougher reinforced pvc of the type that is used for truck tarpaulins. the adhesive used to glue it is HH66, a contact cement.

No disrespect but you should look up all the people who have used this thing for years in the ocean/seas around the world. You don't have to do anything you don't want but you've been proven wrong already, many many many times over and for a pretty long period of time. Many Youtube videos, forum posts from many different forums about the capability of this "pool toy".

Not here to debate whether this thing is ocean worthy and how stupid it is or not to use it on the ocean. Thank you

Thanks, I was looking at HH66 online and figured it's probably the best bonding agent for PVC. I'll be testing all kinds of stuff on cheap $1 inflatable toys to see how tough I can actually make them both for knowledge and experience.

When you say "people who do canvas work", you mean at places like car repair places or the actual fabric store? Being in Hawaii, we're really limited to things so it's difficult to find stuff.

I mean the type of small company who make custom products such as dodgers and biminis etc for boats. These kind of companies make all sorts of 'canvas" items so use all kinds of materials and the reinforced pvc is common in various colors and weights.

Xybe, I must have missed the part of the video that showed the wind and waves, but I do see two people very carefully positioning themselves and holding on tight in very calm water.
Note that the outboard is not shown during the transition to planing, I would think this is because the motor is likely trying hard to pass the boat during this phase.
You will never convince me that this is or has any potential to be a viable boat for use in other than still ponds.
A well-designed kayak would make a much safer platform for what you intend to do, and would probably cost less than the mods you are proposing.
