PAR, I don't think we need that all stuff to live simply and go sailing. For example, I have my Yngling 21 foot sailboat fitted with simple WWII Enigma machine and Sten gun, now in public domain. ;-)

Okay, so not "all" information should be free. What about just proas? Should Vestas Sailrocket II release it's design into public domain? Maybe Paul Bieker can offer up his latest ideas on the subject - for free . . .

 

I guess it all depends on points of view....
If U love cheesecake, but only the smell of it makes me vomit, then what?
It's just not up for debate, what I think and what others do.
They are big boys and what they do is their business.
My Ideas are not about speed records and racing. I'm a cruiser and so is Crystal Clear, Why Not? was just built to see that things work the way I understand them... Now I know that CC will work too.
We launch her this summer, then as soon as I can, I will upload her whole design, free. WHY? because proas are just brilliant!
Proas just have a category of their own. So why aren't there more out there?
Many people would fit proas perfectly, only they don't know it... Sailing isn't only about luxury and comfort, It's also about simplicity and a fun ride...
Proas give max fun to the dollar. max waterline to the dollar and the easiest build for any waterline length.
So, why aren't there more out there????

Nice boats. I think more info should be free too. But some people gain a living from selling the info they have developed, and its the money associated with developing that info which makes it of such a high quality that its worth paying for in the first place. Other models work by giving info away for free, and certainly keeping somethings secret are harmful to humanity just so one company can become rich. Forcing people to buy law books and rules and regs which are mandatory to be followed is wrong imo but thats the world we live in.

Anyway I love the proas. Im looking forward to the sail reports.

I just think that in some cases people could benefit more from giving more...
CC is getting very close to her launch, it's been a head breaking 3 years and she looks promising.
I wish i built WHY NOT? 3 years ago, if I had, CC would be sailing and probably much much lighter.......

Looks like a nice job Rael. I like your ingenuity when it comes to using cheap off-the-shelf stuff and adapting it for your purposes. The dorade vent is a great example.

By the way, did you perhaps learn English by listening hip-hop music? That's how it sounds to me.
