Actually, it depends most on can you use commonly available off the shelf parts.
And can you match the components and install them yourself.
Somebody else engineering the system is expensive.
Someone else installing the system is expensive.
Someone else inventing and manufacturing NEW technology is expensive.

And of course, bigger the boat, bigger the price.

You said you are working up a boat design.
Why not start a thread? I'm sure you'll get lots of help.

Don't let the mercury build up in your system from all that tuna. Eat plenty of citrus to chelate the heavy metals and maybe try some potted meat product from cans the same size to alternate diet.

That occurred to me when yob mentioned "gorging" on Tuna. I don't know what the mercury content is, it seems to vary a great deal according to the part of the world, size, age, and species. I have never heard of the citrus angle, I'll have to investigate further.

Thankyou gentlemen for your concern for my health.

"Complete Baby Shoe Bronzing Kit $679.00 "
bronzes 100 pair baby shoes or other non-conductive items.

:D Metal cans and metal anchors I believe would be classed as conductive, 679$ classed as exorbitant to decorate tuna cans, and a mission to consume six 12oz cans of tuna quickly for diy oil lamps.....I think the entire nonsense was intended as a joke! :D
hmmm, now I recall, it was.

They would probably fit, justaguy, but I prefer free repurposed stuff. Thanks.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citric_acid

"Citric acid is an excellent chelating agent, binding metals."

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelation

"Chelation therapy is the use of chelating agents to detoxify a patient's body of poisonous metal agents, such as mercury, arsenic, and lead, by converting them to a chemically inert form that can be excreted without further interaction with the body."

These are my "play with" solar panels. Ten bucks a piece, 47 watts each.
I will need about 600 watts of panels, and those will cost about $200.
And about the same size as the 47 watt panels.
My panels will be take down to stow, or erect and orient with ease.
And my control electronics, I hope to make myself.
System tested on the "play withs" before purchasing more expensive equipment.

The 174 watt Sharp panels for 49$ each (28cents per watt), while "sold only by pallet (30 panels)" is the advertisement, is changed.
I called the company and they'll sell any quantity, even just a few, at the $49 price each.
They are used panels, tested and working. So are my 10$ panels that work just fine.

Four panels would give me close to 700 watts. And the 100 watts already owned, 800 watts over 6 panels.
About 20 minutes of solar charging to run a 1800 watt microwave for 5 minutes off a battery and inverter.
Enough time for a 'nuked' baked potato.

Plan to install the panels protruding outboard, not above the boat. Outboard is out of the way, maximizing space on board for occupants.

Won't need solar except at anchor. Shore-power at dock. Diesel generator power underway.
And going down the highway at speed, I want them stowed safely below.
Might as well be a portable installation for a multitude of reasons as for one. :)
Could use them on roof of my Mark III van conversion when camping, also.
My 4000 lb V8 3/4 ton Dodge Mark III is my 'GRAVY' towing vehicle.

Might be worth the single sheet metal screw it would require, to fasten a 5 oz tuna can inside a 12 oz tuna can.

Perimeter space between filled with epoxy sand or Portland cement for a little ballast.
Little can filled with the Crisco.
Probably with the spiral cardboard wick Hoyt suggested rather than the easier drawn lamp wick shown.
Or, burners/wicks of both types, depending on need to just keep something warm, or a hot flame for stir frying or searing a steak.

Advantages: the cut out lid of 12 oz can reserved as smothering lid and all closed in with available snap on plastic lid that fits 12 oz can.
The 5 oz can better sized match and centered under the burner hole in pot well of SeaSwing.

If you have sufficient electrical power (400 watts, 4 amps of 110v), making ice on board is darned convenient.
If you have ice and salt, you can freeze home made ice cream at -5 degrees F (below zero).
Only a small ice chest and 30% salt by weight to ice, will super freeze below zero.
Without any power, just chemical reaction.

These counter top ice makers make a half liter tray of ice in 15 minutes.
Simple and rugged and light weight and cheap.
85$ to 125$ depending where bought and whose label it's wearing.
All seem to be made by same company, but with different brand labels.

They do share a problem, that frequently gets them discarded; but is easy to repair.
The ice shovel mechanism tends to catch on the bottom of ice maker and goes into a loop repeat cycling till overheats and shuts off.

If you wrap a zip tie around the ice shovel, it can't catch on the bottom.

My FREE ice maker works fine. Dug it out of the dumpster and zip tied the shovel. Voila!

Check pawn shops for cheap ones, or buy new, and apply fix so it CAN'T go wrong.

The Portland cement would render the sheet metal screw unnecessary. If you do use the sheet metal screw, I suggest you use a rubber washer between the screw head and the can to prevent leaks.

The table in front of my wife's chair, is now wearing this emblem.
Needs more refining, but lost my light.

In the twilight photo, it looks grey and blue, but really its dark blue and tan.

Additional Aztec symbols will be used in décor to honor my wife's culture, thus my wife.

The two headed serpent symbolizes duality in nature.
It will decorate the ship side in the tunnel berth, from which you can emerge in the aft cabin, or the salon forward.

The water symbol, Atl will decorate the interior of recliner tub's sloped back.

Ouroboros symbol will not be used.
