Excitedly waiting. Looking forward to a stellar success on all the finer post splash details. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you chronicling the journey.

I'm please to announce that the launch date has been booked for the 29th FEB - and no I didn't choose such a rare day for any particular reason- that's the day the trucking guys gave me !

Sorry, but i struggle to get a pic where everything is all neat and tidy and clean, finished etc... i dont really stop to take staged photos, i just snap away when i get a chance, lifes just too busy to be pretty!

Cockpit floor is done, although covered in mud and footprints from the wet weather weve just had... Just have the icebox to finish - another job for post launch i think... i think im gonna make the inside liner and pour foam over it. After the foam cures, ill cut it back to size so the whole thing drops into the outer case you can see in the pic...

Ive also taken a shot of the switchboard which feeds all of the boats 12VDC loads and also the 240VAC distribution. I used domestic gear - which is also rated for DC, and found this to be a simple and low cost method of wiring everything up. Its compact and works very well. Theres a cover which goes over this and has a nice little hinged door so its all hidden away... 12VDC rail on the bottom, 240VAC rail on top. Main switch on the 240VAC is a "generator changeover switch" - which switches the entire 240V rail from shorepower (fed from the marina) to inverter power from the batteries - the observant will notice ive also made the earth neutral bond here- only on the inverter side, so the RCD`s will work properly. The 3 unused breakers on the top rail are for watermaker, dive compressor and 240v hotwater - none of which are ready to be connected just yet... There are no other bus bars or other junk required anywhere else on the boat - its all done from here...

And ive got the sink and stove installed in the kitchen along with my finished 6mm plywood bentop, finished in automotive 2pack clear acrylic urethane from a spray gun... Still havnt faired or painted the cupboard doors yet either - thats gonna be a job for after launch...

Looking good Groper, been a silent observer of this thread since page 1. it's amazing to look back to your first parts to see how far the boat has come. Can't wait to see the launch pics
    Cheers, Jeff

You have got a lot of hp there, I'm going to take a wag guess at mid to high 20s but what the hell do I know. Ive seen a lot bigger displacement power cats with less hp diesels topping out in the high teens. You have very little rocker, how much is it if you don't mind me asking? This is all very exiting for all of us voyeurs who have been looking in on your build over the last few years, even more for you no doubt.

If you can cruise at 18-20 knots it would be a very good result, imo. Tops 25 knots. Can't see it going any quicker than that. I think you may find it to be a little over-propped. Best of luck with the launch.

You guys are eternal pessimists :) my prediction according to michlet modelling is pretty close to dead on 30kts. .. props are probably 1 size too coarse, but assuming they're propped right it should be around there... will know by Monday :D

Fingers crossed for you, hope it works out. Do you know how your finished weight compares to design?

Well, I think my high 20s are pretty much the same as your close to 30, no?

Lock me in for 26.5.... I have no clue really but unless you lock in a number there's no prize.

    Groper, what's the prize? :D
