Man that thing is looking very nice, if you do half as good a job on the real boat you will really have something.

In regards to the gougeon designed masts. I built mine 14 years ago and has worked very well and cheap to build. I did however use a Kurt Hughes rotating hound design where the 3 shrouds attach.

isladelobos that has come a long way since the last water test. Its amazing. Rob Denney, and I suggest anyone who has any doubts on his credentials go to his site
    http://harryproa.com/#section-78
Is donig a design for hos boats of a tender that mounts under the bridge that not only is a tender and a killer one at that but is your engine. No need for engine well. Im waiting till his company finishes the design to see if theres going ro be anyway to use it with my build.
But isladelobos Im not settled on that yet but that is the traditional place. Thanks to he who shall not be named I have been given a huge confidence boost to experiment a little not so much with the hull design as its sound and even go as far to say as good. So playing with dimensions won't ruin the running of the boat if your realistic and follow general accepted rules of building the boat.
The model is with the double chin like yours isladelobos and the measurements are 10th the design given in TCP. So its amazing just how a little tweek here and there will give you the storage and feel of a much larger boat.
Would love to see a full pic of your model so can see the amazing work thats gone into the mast also. Id like to if ok with you use some of the look of your boat when I do cabin top if its ok with you. Im in the planning stage of building a 3 stay mast out of glass and carbon so its made spec to my boat.
Id like to thank all again this discussion has been fantastic Rob isladelobos steve brian eiland redreuben groper uponstands and so on. Youve given food for thought taught me more then I thought Id learn from a forum and kept the drive to build. And, groper, slow down and plan and plan and think. That was great advice.
Please if you notice something wrong or about to go wrong let us know also if youve got a helpful idea throw it in the mix. Once its built Im going to endeavour to sale aronud Australia so anyone here whod like a sale is welcome.

    Cheers

    Gus

You got pics? As stated if you still have the plans you could live a life with a fridge full of beers if you do and shared them.

    30' cat

    All looking good.
Just for your information, imho probably the best 30' bridge deck cat to date is the Schionning Cosmos 930, mysteriously this boat has been discontinued.

    New names for CSC30

I reckon isladelobos CSC 30 is better looking. Hey we'll have to come up with another name as the design has moved so far away from the TCP article.

Looks are a very subjective arena...... the little Cosmos is very neat, I'd imagine quite sensitive to load & maybe dropped from the range as a small step in length will make a better boat at a small cost at times. In regards to that the CSC model pictured looks prime for an extra meter or so tacked on to the sterns to my eye... always an option later.

    Regards from Jeff

Think your right with that one. The Cosmo is a great looking little boat. I think 30 foot is a strange length for a cat. Although while doing a search for 30 footers thers were some great looking 28ft with great lines.
I also feel extending the boat by a few feet would give it just that little bit extra.

    Hi Al,

Very tidy... will sail circles around the CSC, plenty of the right stuff there.
So long as they're strong and good the view will be great off both.

No offence was ment mate. It was just comment by an about to begin builder. The Cosmos looks like a great boat. It would have been gr8 to see a cosmos 2 updated version. It does look fast with lower widage then we are goingin to end up with and is a true 30. I like to lean towards full head room in the saloon or whatever you chose to call it, as my backs bad enough witout having to duck. But the Cosmos looks like the perfect cross between what I would imagine a true RACING Cruiser cross over would be.
But Im more enclined to lean towards a Seawind 950 or the 960 now. Asked a few years back and I would have just gone with the Cosmos. Although if asked now and I had cash to burn Id go for the Rob Denney EXHILARATOR 40f thats a nice looking boat.
To be honest the csc30 is the idea hence my thinking of needing a name change. Theres been so much input here that I have a note book of all the best ideas and after long chats with groper and Rob Denney have been given some really solid advice. And the crux of the advice is that a cat hull is hard to stuff up that the simplicity of rhe csc30 gives itself to be very easily modified if you o enough reading and looking at othe cats finished and in the build process.
So I made a short list of some of the modifications I was making to my build. I took gropers advice and SLowed Down a little. But am going to stick with ply as I spent today discussing foam with some builders and while I would love to do it in foam as a 35 to 39ft I just dont have the room to leave a vacuum tableset up and the neighbours gos bless em are goin to be shocked enough at a with one hull on the lawn the other sticking out of the garage.
I have nearly perfected the means by which I can build all the parts put the beams and bridge deck in place with the coach house in two halves on top and finish on a mooring, well private jetty. The hulls will already be fitted out and the furniture for saloon, dont like that name, will be pre made and ready to go straight in with most of the fairing and painting done with the exceptions of a join here and there.
So now Ive coaxed a boat build or three to help out wit some stuff Im just about ready to start a month or so later than expected but hopefully the weather will be a little kinder then it has been.

    Cheers
    Gus

    Hi Gus
Certainly no offence taken, you guys are doing a great job with your CSC 30 just be careful with the weight thing it's surprising how it adds up . The Cosmos is all foam except for the main bulkheads which are Duflex balsa .
I used Corecell Foam it was my fifth multi build and the most satisfying .
