    Lit alligator warning signs?

Yep. Lit, or at least glow-in-the-dark.

I realized the need for these after reading about a burglar who, on the 13th of November ***, tried to hide in a nearby lake to avoid police and dogs only to meet an 11' gator instead.

My thinking is simply this: nitwits happen, so do gators, and the families of nitwits have lawyers too.

... it's only a matter of time till lawyers get involved.

If you've got gators nearby, and they hunt at night as gators do, then your warning signs need to be lit. You might save someone's life. Or, failing that, fend off some lawyer down the road.

Much better to install gator and human proof fencing to every lake and stream.... & then just put the lit signs at the gates......

...... or get gator cages for everyone to wear, specially burglers skulking in the dark

like this but tuned for gators and walking..

Every time I tried to light my alligator, the water extinguished the flame.

Of course, if you do come across a lit alligator, it may indicate the occurrence of some sort of thermonuclear event.

I wonder what an actual warning sign for the alligators would be like?

Maybe show pictographs of different choking hazards idiots may carry with them.
