Winter Project - Light Cartopper

    My forum search didn't find anything. With hand tools only, I'd like to build a small, rowable (as opposed to rowing) boat suitable for a single freshwater fisherman. A key quality is weight - it must be very light I'm comfortable with polyester and have passable epoxy skills. I'm posting this for design suggestions. Are there existing plans available somewhere for something like this? Thanks.

    Do you have a weight in mind? A 13' canoe is pretty good. Do you want to run a trolling motor, or something faster? Will you be loading it on the side of your car, or over the rear (hatchback)?

    I'd like it to come in at 40#. I have looked at canoes but, for instance, the 13' Grumman weighs 60# - too much. Wouldn't rule out auxiliary power but it isn't a paramount item. A LOA of 10' appeals as does Richard's 'Crayfish'.
