    eindrucksvoll... spektakulär...

But I always wonder if a thing like that gets built for a specific reason, or is it a matter of someone's bank is full and they have to let some out before it bust.

Cannot be much fun sailing the thing. And who gives way, the tanker or the sailboat ?

cool that its a semi-traditional sailing ship.

like to hear the particulars on how they plan to handle what look like the world's largest sails (not broken into smaller ones like a dyna-rig)

wonder how well it will sail under sail power alone.

"I" think it would be neat to sail in a strong blow just because the sheer size.

Could it be: "Billionaires pissing for distance off the end of the dock."?

I guess they must figure they've solved some of Mirabella V's problems.

    Or so I'd hope.

As big of a motor as they must have they can make the sailing performance look good any time they want.

I was just watching off of a San Francisco Ferry when a guy came by pretending to sail.
About a 35' sailboat, dead into the wind with the jib backed across the boat and the main to the opposite side. Looking like he was doing a good job of sailing.
No one else even noticed. I wonder if his passengers knew?

Looks like a floating fridge, not a sailing yacht... Sorry to say this, Philippe....

Fantastic. I used to dream of space craft and weird and wonderful sailing ships when I was a kid but then I grew up, reality checked in and I have a 24 footer! A Russian who has fulfilled his childhood dreams, what a head-the-ball !!

Sailing yacht does not need tho be the biggest. But it should perform as a sailboat.
Building this biggest mageyacht with the shape of cruise liner is nothing more than pissing contest. Not a childhood dream, but a teenager fetishism...

I wonder what the righting moment is?
Would you expect it to need a lot more sail?

None of you have seen it sail yet . Why not wait and see if its any good before posting all the negative comments. It might perform well.:p

Well, I did express hope they would have addressed Mirabella's issues given the size of those masts.
