I arrived back at my beachfront apartment in China and discovered buildings are popping up like mushrooms.
The pictures are before and not long after from my apartment balcony.

Is it just me or have they "made land" where once there was a beach?

They made land where there was a beach but still can see the harbor entrance from my apartment.
My large 3 bedroom apartment cost 500 RMB = $80 USD a month and expect they will pull down and replace with new high rises, the days of low rent on beach front are coming to an end.

This picture shows the tallest white building in back ground which is my apartment on the 6th floor before they built and claimed the beach front.

When I was living I the Shangdong region in a city called Dongying they built a brand new city next to it and no one lived there, this is the second largest oil producing places in China that actually had oil wells on the round about intersections and in peoples back yards and its said they spent the spare cash on this city and sold apartments to capitalist hoping for a future boom.

The first picture shows the bridge I cross that's about 1 minute walk from my apartment.

This bridge when I first came was a bamboo bridge for walking only.

The next pictures are the fishing boats on either side of the bridge at low tide.

From my apartment I watch the fishing boats go out into the harbor and come back in all sorts of whether with a chug chug chug noise of their reliable diesel motors.

And there I was thinking they go chug-chug-chug because they don't use silencers!

They do have silences as with out a silencers I can hear a mile out at seas.

On my way home today I took a picture of a man with pants falling apart, there was another man near by the same but his private parts are showing.

I offered him money and he kindly refused with a humble smile on his face so I brought him and the other man food and drink.

Next time I see them I will buy them some pants.

Myark, thanks for the pictures, what was the time span between these pics . . ? ?

Perhaps someone was scammed and bought some land at low tide, and then decided to make it profitable after all . . ;)

Just kidding, I know it happens everywhere, interesting to see in this case how it goes, thanks for the info [IMG]

The picture first taken was about 6 years ago but was more or less the same back ground until about 2 years ago when I was communicating with a dive boat drilling the shore lines for rock samples they said was to claim land from the sea shore and build upon.
That's only the tip of the ice berg what development has been done to this small fishing village over the last two years.
Fortunately I still have the harbor entrance view.
My apartment is the building on the left side of picture.

The latter occurred in quite different circumstances with Lenny Kravitz during a performance in Stockholm on 3 Aug. 2015 . . .

It was quite embarrassing for Lenny, pictures of the accident would be beyond the code of conduct of this thread . .

Google ‘‘ lenny kravitz stockholm pants ’’ for info, for those who want to know more . .

It's good to see joyful faces. You find the most amazing talent in small towns. I happened to end up in a tiny town in North Dakota that was also home to a remarkable Goju Ryu master. Sadly, I was only there for six months. The typical turnout was several bouncers, the entire state's Highway Patrol force (all six of them), a former national Greco wrestling champ, a good percentage of the school system, and a few clewless adults like myself.
