What will happen in an earthquake when the buildings the pool is suspended between are swaying?

 

Not known any earthquakes in London and I've worked there over 20 years BUT you do get a lot of rumble from Tube trains and the like. If it were to be built, it would have to be integral and simply on 'elastic' beddings on each building, at least that's probably how I would approach engineering it...

 

Home Depot did a 2 foot thick glass aquarium in Georgia...Maybe they sell materials retail and I can make my own.

 

Having the pool on a tray, at each end would permit movement. I would think this has been accounted for in the design, as contraction and expansion issues wouldn't need an earthquake to rise up and bite a butt.

 

You know, as many things as could go wrong with this pool once it was up just imagine getting it up to begin with?

Yup, especially when it freezes over, solid more like when Siberia moves west in our winters.....

 

I've read about winters, though honestly really don't want much to do with them personally. I understand they're cold, miserable, but look nice on post cards and as screen savers, which I think is the only good thing it can provide.

 

My brother's family moved to Calgary ... they had 3 frost/ice/snow free months last year.

It's here, this year is the latest in a series of hottest on record. As to your brothers concerns, well living a few hundred miles from the arctic circle might be an underlying issue.
