It will be so cool if they can get the thing to 100% fly on autopilot!

For some reason their ama foils aren't ready OR they wanted to get data on the daggerboard first? I like the cockpit "cabin" but I'm not thrilled about the rig position but I can see why they're doing it that way.

Why are they placing the rig at about 60% aft ?

Best I can tell: to reduce pitching in rough ocean conditions.....

They don't look particularly small to me. Note that there are three rudders with the center rudder a bit bigger than the ama rudders. That's because the faster they go the less rudder area they need. This thing is designed to fly the main hull and ama at maximum speed.

yeah the flying condition is kinda why i mentioned it, if its running that high doesn't seem there would be a lot of depth on the rudders elevator. length to me looks roughly in length, as height of ama in middle. and the sea doesnt always run flat

Banque Populaire IX has been announced so another Ultime trimaran is on the way along with Gitana's new Ultime project. I've even heard some rumors that there might be some more Ultime action from Lending Club CEO Renaud Leplanche who funded and sailed on the recent Lending Club campaign.
