I installed a new petrol pipe and bulb,I followed the flow arrows on the bulb, but the bulb stays deflated when squeezed.
Is there a simple way to test if the non return valve is sticking in the bulb?
The outboard starts but stops after a couple of minutes.I changed to the fuel line setup that I have on my Yamaha, and it works perfectly.
It only leads me to presume that the new bulb is faulty.
    Any ideas?

I assume the fuel is fresh and tank/lines clean.

    Thanks for your replies gentlemen.
The tank and fuel lines are clean and the fuel is new.
I removed the tank vent and stripped it,it had some flaky material partially blocking it.I refitted it and gave it another try,it still behaved the same.
When I fitted the fuel line and bulb off my Yamaha,it worked perfectly.

Thats easy. Throw the old bulb out a and get a new one. Did you keep the receipt . You should get a free replacement.

Try it the other way 'round anyway. You may have a really cheap, efficient anti theft gadget there.;)

haHa,my problem is I am at least 35mls from the nearest water,so if the bulb is anti-theft,it may go anti-me.
I think the best thing to do with it is dropkick it into the nearest rubbish bin.
