Troy, I spent 34 years working for the govt. I learned very quickly that there is no arguing with people who hold those kinds of beliefs. As my Dad used to say (jokingly) "Don't confuse me with the facts. My minds made up!"

They simply don't want to hear the truth because they believe that what they are saying is the truth.

And Like you, how much older do I have to get. I'm 66, shortly to be 67. There was a day when that was considered really old. We were considered to be wise old men, the elders with all the wisdom and knowledge. Not any more.

I long ago gave up this discussion Peter, for the very reasons you've noted. I lump many of these into the conspiracy theorists category, as they seem to just spout off talk radio host speaking points and never seem to really understand the multiple and various issues involved in their debate. JFK is living on the same remote, uncharted south Pacific atoll, that many of the early multi-hull designers seemed to have end up, partying with Elvis I assume, waiting for ET to return Amelia and her plane.

This is your second post on this thread and it's pretty clear, what you have in and on you mind and why no one is replying, to your thread any more. You'll find this is a quite typical reaction to nut jobs, that listen to political talk radio way too much, as I'm sure you do. Good luck with the anarchy, head in the sand thing, let us know how it works out for you.

sorry, Mr E, my danged macbook won't let me spell things the way they were written

Mark Twain was an american author who wrote many stories about life on the rivers. "Runaway Jim", one of his characters was an escaped slave, who happened to be a clairvoyant when it comes to human nature. In those days, men were often paid their wages in "corn pone" or other food staples, so the gist of the comment is that folks attitudes about life are usually shaped to large degree by the attitudes of their employers, or their work environment.

PS it is a great read. "Lfe on the Mississippi." Mark Twain

Yes, I am slightly familiar with Mr Twains literary prowess. And I am learning about "cornpone", this from Wikipaedia........

President John F. Kennedy's staffers, who were mostly Northeastern Ivy League elites, openly mocked Texan Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson's rural speech patterns, referring to Johnson behind his back as 'Uncle Cornpone' or 'Rufus Cornpone'.

Ugh, I just lost my reply when my son's computer just shut down on me. Long story short... i built only 1 of the 13' skiffs, it came out good, but it certainly would not be cost or time effective for me to build and sell them. Shortly after that i suffered carbon monoxide poisoning out on the boat, followed by a series of mini strokes over the next few months. So now my boat, traps, and skiffs are all in the yard as a sad reminder of a life that once was.... (and just so you know, the old adage is true .... Men and ships rot ashore).

As for everything else that i have said, i still stand by every word of it, and i am vindicated every day. If you still cannot yet see how things are progressing in this country as i have said, then you've got your heads buried in the sand or shoved up somewhere else.

Hows that global warming lie treating you these days, the polar ice caps are not melting and no cities are under water as they had predicted. Apparently some of you don't even realize why they would lie about environmental issues.

Let me some it up for you all in one simple sentence .....

"Environmental Governance" is being used to create a U.N. controlled "Global Governance" system.

LOL. He deserved their scorn IMO, though not for talking funny.

FWIW, I grew up in the deep south and I never heard it called "corn pone" coming up. It was simply "corn bread", and we had it almost every meal. It was just corn meal mixed with water, salt and pepper, sometimes some onion, fried in thin cakes on a flat iron skillet in bacon fat.

Well ..... Let my past mistake be a warning to others....

While leaving the harbor alone one day to go out and haul a few traps, i had just got up to speed when i heard what sounded something like the sound of steam, or spraying water from below the deck. I took the boat out of gear and lifted the engine box to be hit with a cloud of steam, but i still could not see where it was coming from, so i removed the small hatch beside the engine, again more steam, but i still could not locate any problems with the engine, pumps, hoses or any connections.
I was laying on the deck with half my body down thru the small hatch, when i noticed a small area of the wrapped exhaust pipe that was darkened and fraying. Then just as i finally figured out the cause of the problem, and i was working my way out of the hatch, i blacked out !!!, completely unconscious with my head still hanging over the small hatch.
I had found the cause of the problem, just as it almost killed me !!!. It was a section of flex pipe on the exhaust that had come apart, yet it was being held together by the fiberglass exhaust wrap. The steam was the moisture vapor coming off the exhaust wrap, which picks up moisture and condensation below the deck.
So there i was drifting slowly back into the mouth of the harbor, past out cold, having been overcome by the carbon monoxide, several minutes later i awoke dazed and confused. Luckily just before passing out i had apparently got myself just far enough out of the hatch to be into some fresh air, or perhaps the boat had drifted in such a way that fresh air was coming into the semi enclosed wheelhouse area, i don't know, but i crawled my way to the back deck area and rested until i felt safe enough or recovered enough to bring the boat back into the harbor.
I was lucky, but in my defense, you would not believe how much that broken flex pipe under the exhaust wrap sounded exactly like steam, or spraying water, and the moisture vapor coming from the wrap was making me think there was a water leak somewhere.
Lesson learned .... sometimes the problem is not what you think it is !!!.
