I concur with Alik. It also has a life-time licence agreement.

Only down side is it 30year old method of lines input - fudges are required. But once the lines are in...it is very robust.

We import 3D from Rhino... No manual input required, though for some shapes there were problems with sections but once operator is skilled it can be resolved in few minutes.

    Hi All,
I think that the most good program while it is Maxsurf Stability Enterprise, version 20, Dec 17 2013. On Picture its capabilities are shown. At first it is necessary to create the file of model in program Maxsurf Modeler. While the unique lack of this program is that he does not receive IGES files of trimmed surfaces. Maxsurf Modeler does not support importing trimmed surfaces. All surfaces have to be re-trimmed manually.
Delftship Free is a free version for training.
Delftship Professional is the serious program with very major capabilities, but for it is something which to me not pleasant. It is the following:
He works perfect, but only when surfaces made with its help. If you decide to use IGES file from Rhino or another program, will face with the problem “Leak Point” - the small green points very unpleasant which show that model is pervious, thus all further calculations of hydrostatics, intact stability and unsinkability will be prevented. They can be overcome, but it cost to me a lot of effort to learn how make it.
Except for that in version 4.03 with which I work, there is no diagram representation of hydrostatic curves. Whether it is righted in the newest version 7.1 I cannot to say.

You should try MAAT hydro. It is a solid based software. You can import iges files.

You can test it, there is a free demo version.

I am working with Delftship now, it is very quick and nice software. From the stability calculation point of view, the lacking is , it cant do the Grain Stability . Other then this, all the needed calculations methods are available.

    Hi,
Could anyone post a screenshot of the IMO criteria in Maxsurf enterprise? Any ideas if there are any MODU criteria for semi submersibles?

    Thanks
