When you are a wealthy old dottery beggar and stuck with a wheel chair or even a walking stick and want to go fishing or take "friend" it may look like dream come true.

    I've seem much worse.

Looks like a short wide boat that will not trim other than bow sky high from 6 knots to 18 or so. Probably hard riding too as the part of the bottom (mid-ships) that it rides on looks flat.

Many people view great stability as so wonderful that almost anything can be overlooked in the quest for same. That philosophy seems to have touched down here.

    Tom,

Instead of replying to this I should have asked for your review first.
This looks like the start of another troll.

And I am not yet a wealthy, old (well not too old), doddering person. And I don't go fishing. Altho I don't discriminate against such persons - trust me.

Pray tell, are you one of those? Is this your dream boat or did you design it? With your own props?

I dig it! But then look at my first posted design. LOL.

Its a little self launching/beaching boat. I like the idea but don't think their implementation is all that great. The front aircraft bogie style "nose gear" looks complicated and heavy. I bet its designed to sell to coast guards and harbor police forces.

Also their web site is horrible. I hope they didn't pay anything for it...

    Ummm, mebbe knot?

I think you've jumped to conclusions unwarranted.

It's funny how people view the world. You see something that most likely isn't there and I see tabla rasa. It could be entirely wrong, of course.

The hull design is not too far off a good one, imo, though I have misgivings about the single engine set-up. But the launch and retrieve seemed to be good. I wonder how much extra weight for the undercarriage and its drive.

The Youtube movie shows a small model that's really good also their other model mono hull is road legal.

I think the cat is good looking and suits in NZ winter to get out of the wind and rain.
All they need to do now is get rid of the heavy trailer when they want to tow at speed and use retractable torsions with a simple low cost designed hydraulic roller pressed onto the tire that is battery operated.
Their design down fall is price but then it does much more and suited for Government, coast guard and wealthy living on beach side.
The cat goes well on water and their design hydraulic system is cool.
Over all its Kiwi ingenuity at its best

Awhile back I was in the harbor and watched a hardbottom stick his beak on the launch ramp and fold down three sets of wheels then proceed to drive himself and wife up and out of sight. Wouldn't ever fit my budget but I certainly admired the whole of it. She was quite attractive too. The boat, of course.

All of that makes me envious wishing I was a wealthy old beggar. I still want to navigate shallow waters and I do not think an amphibian would fit the bill I am happy with my Ground Effect Vehicle that can skim anywhere. I can even troll for trout when I get there.
