I am able to get a set of used Arneson ASD-8's, I would have them rebuilt at Arneson.

For $18,000 including all jacks and compete overhaul. Power steering pump at your expense if desired.

    16750 dry weight

With 250 gallons fuel, 5 persons an 42 C ambient temperature 27 C Sea Temp

44 Knots First gear; 51 knots second gear

    Problems:
On plane over 45 knts steering is very slow (about 8 degrees per second)
Cannot hold speed between 10 and 20 knts during transition to plane
When docking reverse has 30% of forward thrust

    Hi Chriss,
would like to know what exactly is included when you say ""all jacks".
What about the props, and how much for the wheel pump? I suppose thats the one you are refering at.
    Best regards Mario.

    ASD 8's

All he trim cylinders.. 2 steering and 2 vertical trim.

The trim cylinders would be completely resealed, polished and tested.

I would have the drives overhauled by Arneson. They would give them a clean bill of health.

Steering pump, helm and props by you. Props would have to be by you anyway; depending on application.

I wish had found them sooner, I would have used them instead of this rudder over system

Yes, they are used. Sitting in the shop. One shaft is damaged, they would need an overhaul.
