Farrier F-22 & 22R

I'm sort of surprised not to see a thread on this boat. There are several examples sailing and many in build. Melvest built some to order using vacuum bagged epoxy layups and production is much closer than it was in 2010.

The reason I'm sailing Hobie Cats is that I could not buy a built W-17. Sailing a Hobie in BC does not appeal too much. Beach Cats and 50°F water are not my idea of fun.

I have a line on a Melvest built boat ... This design seems to have addressed the things I didn't like (and kept me from buying) about a Sprint 750. Mainly the low beams and the beam shape just fire hosed the boat making it extremely wet to sail.

I'm eager to hear opinions and thoughts about the design, using epoxy instead of vinylester for construction, and the reputation of Melvest Marine.

Been well covered on multihull anarchy I think you'll find. Nice looking boats (scratch built and production) hope to see one sailing in Auckland some time. I recal IF speaking highly of the Melvest versions a few years ago. Would have to be cost effective alternative to a new factory build I would assume.

The boat I found was new 2010-11 and not sailed until 2014 ... so yes cost effective. I don't have a real feel for Epoxy vs Vinylester for the layup ... the production boats are starting to ship so I thought it time to start a thread ...
