    Hi Tom

Last year a company called Great star tools wanted to manufacture one of my design multi-function tools who area USA based and the largest tool manufacture in Asia that has a two billion dollar each year turnover.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3-EsetvqRg
They would pay me royalties when sold on shop shelves only, and not before so I turned their offer down as you may imagine what happens to inventors with big company’s we are expected to trust.
Also since the model you can see on youtube I have advanced the design and are applying new patents that I do my self like you do.
At that time of the offer I was hoping to get cash up front to develop my boat ideas that one will have a similar propulsion system to yours and why back then I jumped the gun to soon, so sorry about that.
Any how I am totally inspired by your designs that the latest Myark amphibious folding trailer barge has the cars power for propulsion that is adapted to the similar drive system as yours so no HP is lost.
At the moment I am about to go on a site called www.kickstarter.com to further my multifunction tool ideas which I will manufacture in my home in China if kick starter is successful raising the capital I need.
I already have titanium tool product to sell on kick starter I made a few years ago, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gV40x7ZY5Rw
If this works, I will carry on development of the redirected drive system for the latest Mark amphibious trailer barge as well as a new design twin hull speed boat.

They seem to have deep pockets in yacht racing, here's a firm building/selling retractable drives for sailing boats http://www.mcconaghyboats.com/propulsion.html

Tom your drive is really cool!.

Hello myark we do have fun don`t we..I have simply enjoyed my experimenting and boating and camping and anything else that may happen does not matter much if others wish to plod along in the same old way I can not help them enjoy the benifits of change.

Our self regulating industries in NZ have certainly got us screwed and dictate to our government what we must do and they make it compolsory..great for business so much compolsory spending of our hard earned cash. I have got deep pockets too but there is a hole in the bottom.

    rustybarge Cheetah 25' Powercat.

The details Seem to be a closely guarded secret.....:D

You know what they say, if they don't publish the details then there's a reason: it ain't very good at what they say it's supposed to be good at.....

Looks like a the internals from a standard saildrive unit embedded in some sort of exotic carbon fibre; and the price suitably marked up by 1000% for yacht builders to extract even more cash from their super rich clients!

Hi Mark, My grandfather built a Caracat he modified it and fitted 2 hamilton jets strapped to 186 Holden engines I don't remember ever seeing it in the water sadly, but when he passed away we found the original plans I keep meaning to build a model of it after playing on it as a kid it lit my love for jet boats

    Hi Tom
I am not sure if you knew Bryan Jackson who used to manufacture caravans and owned the museum in Devonport who built the Caracat.
He was like yourself with boat design and could not understand why people had trouble visioning simplicity in design that worked well, even after his design proved itself against any other for performance and fuel economy.
Myark flat bottom speed trailer barges used a similar design and later I designed a small cat with the identical design to Bryan’s larger one in picture.
When I saw Bryan last he was showing his design to me and I showed him a drawing of a 4.2 X 2.4 twin hull, he was excited and said, that’s it and never thought of a smaller model.
This cat design is capable to have a jet unit in the centre or your pivotal drive because the middle hull wedges towards the back and kicks up in the end part, levelling off with the twin hull bottoms so it does not sink down like most cats do, but it can still cut the water to have a smooth ride like conventional cats.
It’s a pity Bryan passed away and I have taken too long to get this design made.

    rustybarge Cheetah 25' Powercat.

Any ideas for the UV joint that could live underwater?

Here's the Arneson surface drive setup; their UV joint runs just under the surface.

Do you think this type of UV joint would work on a prop shaft 2' underwater with just a rubber bellows protecting it?

That tool on your video has been around for years. I had one myself until I broke it. Why do you try to turn everyones threads into myark self promotion threads. Rusty is not asking about patents on tools. It is a very interesting thread to read . Please don't turn it into myark promotions.com.

    Show me one ?
Its easy to explain you are wrong.

Also if you read correctly I am talking about a "similar drive system"

"Any how I am totally inspired by your designs that the latest Myark amphibious folding trailer barge has the cars power for propulsion that is adapted to the similar drive system as yours so no HP is lost."

Have you a design ? or just tommy knocking

Don't need to. Try and get A patent. I won't respond to you on this thread any more because I don't want to assist in your self promotion. Start a new thread called myarks inventions and I will. Stop hijacking this one.

I have patents in AU, EU, USA, NZ and China.

    Take note, I said .......
"Any how I am totally inspired by your designs that the latest Myark amphibious folding trailer barge has the cars power for propulsion that is adapted to the similar drive system as yours so no HP is lost.

    I also said

By the way Danoz stole the one you may have from me.
That's means you may have brought stolen IP I filed patents for.
Can you show the wrench please ?, I will tell you the history as I now of every patent filed over the last 120 years on similar models.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3s9VMHNROE this one is an early model but have some others as well.
Have you the stolen Super Wrench model that I filed the AU patent which AU rip-offs are selling at trade shows.

Rusty barge..why run anything in the water when you can keep it safe in the hull.
How would the USCG define this..Inboard or outboard..or illegal.

Gee I thought you would of seen them over the years you have been on boat design, Tom has been showing these on boat design all that time.
I have studied Toms design when I first met 18 odd years ago, http://www.boatdesign.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/21855 and now you try and rob me from discussing his idea.
I look forward to see the wrench you boast about.

The pivotal drive is in some ways better than an expensive jet unit, a jet boat loses HP from motor to jet unit, where the pivotal drive harvest all the HP to prop, also jet units gather weed and jam intakes, where the pivotal drive eats weed and spits it into propulsion.
I am considering of keeping the pivotal drive so it has no side to side steering and keep only the up and down movements, placing the rudders in the front.
Keeping it simple, low cost with minimum maintenance may be the success to Myark amphibious folding trailer barges that use the towing car engine for HP.

Yes.. Pictures of what particular..Last image was of a winter feasability study
to see how practical that configeration would be using the many parts of my old outboard collection and other marine bits and pieces. Why make parts when something that will do the job is at hand. The principle is same as some top ranking Surface drives.
An outboard lower case with no powerhead to wiggle the shaft from side to side and slide up and down and take the exhaust from motor above.A 900cc E93A ford motor and a choice of a v/drive gbox or chain or belt drive.C/V and u/v joints from O/Bs and autos and it takes no time to dismantal the lot and clip on and old vintage outboard if the weather looked OK to go camping.Even my inboard Pivotal Drive could be removed in a few hours and be ready to go..I was never without a boat to travel.
