Groper has made me an infusion convert

So I am fighting with a tiny little leak some were. UUUGGGHH

I think its in the bag not on the seams. I had some there but my 3/8 tube in my ear style stethoscope rooted those out. I can only get 20" on the bag. Trying to find an ultrasonic detector to borrow. The mold is about 40" around X 8' long ....

 

Bought a stethoscope. We will see if we can find that bloody leak tomorrow.

 

The ultrasonic detectors are frustrating at times but may be what you need. What I have done on hard to find holes is vary the amount of vacuum, sometimes I will hear it at one level but then another leak opens up at the higher pressure and I won"t hear it any more. Good luck

 

I narrowed down the leak area by cutting a piece of plastic and sliding it around the bag keeping an eye on the vac. gauge, it didn't take long to narrow it down and tape.

 

I bought a few of these cheap gadgets off of eBay. They work amazingly well for the price.

 

Like this idea! Probably works best with a very thin plastic that can get sucked down ... What mil do you use?

 

I tried this with some saran wrap. Leak must be too small or in a crevice.

The stethoscope is a complete waste of time. I was able to hear some new leaks with my naked ears but not through the scope. UGH. Anyway, I have a friend of a friend that might be able to get me a leak detector to borrow.

I can pull 29 1/2" when I crimp the hose at the bag.

Before my bright idea to infuse the whole damn thing it was my intention to hand layup the outside of the mold and then infuse the business side of the tool. It would have been easier... Live and learn. Anyway.
