What bird species is this, and what remarkable record does it hold?

    Very funny!

Well, it may be a Long-billed Dowitcher, which holds the record among birds for knowing how to say the most words.

    Long-Billed Dowitcher

A Long-Billed Dowitcher really is an excellent guess. Both birds have long bills and fairly long legs, which they use while feeding in shallow water.

However, the Dowitcher's legs are yellow, while the mystery bird's legs are dark. And the Dowitcher's beak grades smoothly from dark at the tip to yellow at the base, while the mystery bird's bill has a sharper transition from dark tip to light base. Though you can't it tell from the photos, the Long-Billed Dowitcher is about 10" long, while the mystery bird is 13" long.

The mystery bird's claim to fame has to do with its migration prowess.

The Bar-Tailed Godwit takes 8 days to fly over 6,000 miles, non-stop, without rest, without sleep, and without food, from Alaska to New Zealand.

Thanks for that. I yield my turn. Perhaps Angélique is able now to post a clue. It could be a written clue without photo.

swifts stay airborne after leaving their nest for about 3 years until they start breeding themselves and cover up to 200 000 km each year...
they do feed and sleep in those years but on the wing...
so the longest non-stop flight is definitely done by swifts covering some 600 000 km in those 3 years... ;)
