    Hello all.

I just joined this forum. I have recently started a boat project. I know I am going to need some advice and guidence. I need to replace a rotted transom, and deck on my 1973 21' starcraft holiday. Before I joined this forum I have read many threads written by folks who have done simialar jobs. And of course seen how much contraversy can be encountered when asking questions. So, I will make an effort to be as clear and to the point as I possibly can.

question 1) What would be the best place to start a thread about my project. It would be the replacement of the deck, and transom in a 21' starcraft IO boat. Hull material being AL.

If you can see it, my avitar photo kinda shows my progress to date. I have the deck pulled, the styrofoam out, and I believe I am ready to start pulling the engin, and out drive.

Somebody thought, at one time, that blowing that foam in was a good idea.
Too bad he cannot see the end result now.

    Hi JJO, welcome aboard !
‘‘What would be the best place to start a thread about my project.’’
Maybe the Metal Boat Building part of the forum is a better place, but maybe here on the Open Discussion forum it draws more attention, so don't realy know what's best.

See the thread: Recomendations for new transom material? -- which is about a 21' 1985 Starcraft --

Saw some faults in the YouTube links in the quote, fixed them in my above post.

Thread title: ‘‘ Newbie here ’’
A thread title which tells more about the actual topic helps to lure the right people to answer the issue. You can ask the Moderator to change the thread title (you can't do that yourself). If you want change the thread title than click on the button ‘‘Flag for Moderator [IMG]’’ above this post and ask the Moderator to do as suggested and tell what title you want. You can also ask to move thread to another more on topic forum on Boatdesign.net if you want it there.

This for example would be a good thread title to lure the right people to the current topic . . .

    Sure.

Good advice, I was thinking I would introduce myself here. Some forums encourage an introduction. Didn’t see that here but thought it would be a good idea anyway. I’ll be asking questions under a new thread after I pull the engine, and outdrive.

    Thanks
